Flowers had started blooming during the wet season— something completely normal, atleast near the waterfall.
Lionesses had blue jellyfish in their jaws as if they were completely immune to the sting.
A white albino lioness, Princess Xolani, and her melanistic girlfriend, Mwezi were resting by a rock. Xolani seemed to be complaining about the sun, and Mwezi chattered back about it, but that wasn't of interest to me.
𝘐 am Ahadi. I live on one of the higher perches above the lake, despite not having a role that high.
I'm just your average adolescent lioness, obsessed with flowers, the stuff I can learn about our history from caves (well, maybe not that average because of this), and breathing. Literally breathing.
I have siblings— of course I do— the lionesses here don't have one cub, we aren't that infertile.
I just don't play or communicate with them— they're boring, their markings are boring, everything about them is boring.
They aren't observant at all. They don't notice the little things. The way lions bat their paws at bugs, every little tinge of yellow that appears when the leaves blow, how we can feel how other lions feel like a mirror, the blue shades that we interpret when birds sing.
It's weird, they act like they can't see what I see. What I feel.
They act like I'm different. And yet nothing is different about me.
A droplet of water fell from the sky, creating a small splash on the stone I was laying on.
The sound of rain is green to me. And that's final.

I smiled at the thought of her. We've been friends since we were 2 months old. We were born at 𝘢𝘭𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 the same time. Everything was similar about us. She was just more into mythology than I was. Her favorite diety is Bast.
