Example of a short story:

The horrid whispers of the rough breeze rippled through his mane. The king stared up at the sky in fear. The storms were coming.
He felt the rush of the could, brisk winds fly up his nostrils. The king could not bare it, he knew he couldn’t take care of his pride in a storm

He suddenly felt guilty as the peel of shock widened. He didn’t dare speak, it would be too outrageous to command them around… knowing he’d handle it wrong.

The king turned his face as the wind ruffled his tears of disappointment away. He ran away, afraid like a hare is to a coyote.

His claws skimmed the rocks as he ran. He tumbled down the rocks in fury with himself. Leaving for good.

The stories I write are very long. I’m too lazy to balance it out by words.
