So, what is a Matrix? It’s known on a very small community on discord. It takes the DnD experience and combines it with a more casual roleplay feel. It’s easy for beginners and is usually 1x1, but the DM is 1x1 with multiple players. So if you're uncomfortable or intimidated by large groups, this is pretty nice. There is an option of using dice to determine how successful your actions are, or what will happen next, but it isn't required.

This is very beginner friendly so it doesn't use the normal system for creating a DnD character. Most of the time it's like filling out an application for roleplay and doesn't need stats unless it's required in that specific Matrix session. I'm a DM and although I use stats, I actually keep them hidden from the player. I use what you fill out on the form and create stats from that. I leave it up to you to figure out what you can do, and you can explore the world while learning about yourself as well.

Other DMs don't quite do this, but I tend to create the world around you. I'll give a story, and a base world and genre. However, What you do is what determines everything about this world, you can change it and branch out in any direction you want. Of course, that doesn't mean things will go your way, there are consequences for actions. If you charge in on an enemy without knowing how to fight, I will make it exactly that, you don't know how and more than likely you will be defeated. You're just learning how to use magic but practice recklessly? Not only can you get harmed in the process, but others can too.

I don't make it easy, and I tend to make my Matrixes rather dark and twisted. Not all DMs are like this, but I like giving challenges. I do usually have a level system where you tell me how much you can handle. I can make them light-heated, or go all out and turn it into Game of Thrones. Most of the time? I make it balanced, and give you time to figure things out in the beginning.

Now there is NSFW stuff I will do, like gore and such. However, I don't like when a player gets intimate. Hand-holding is fine, but anything more? I just can't have it in my matrixes. I can write a horrific scene with blood and guts without any issues, but stuff that's lovey-dovey or more than that? I stay away from it.
