hi guys! tl;dr the contest ended! it was a fun contest! the idea was great, though the voting procedure & everything was ... less well thought out. main chat (& private servers) have been full of discussions regarding this, and well... some things could have Definitely been improved!
below are like. the three primary points i (and friends who agreed on) think should be improved/implemented for any future contests! (which i hope we'll have, since damn, it was fun to design something :))

1. users can only win (or perhaps even enter) on one linked account, not both. this is something i've seen a lot of users be upset about. it has caught some individual's eye that people have won in the same month's category on both the main and side account. not only is this unfair, it also diminishes the chances of other people winning, due to the main & side account taking up two spots instead of one.

2. you should be voting on an anonymous design; no names should be linked to it in order to decrease the chance of incentivizing votes. although it cannot be fully made sure people won't vote for friends over design quality, this would greatly improve it. no further comment.

3. entries should not be made public before voting commences. slightly relating to the above reasoning! my additional reason for this is in order to stop individuals from copying one another :0! though similar ideas can of course occur, i'd guess it can be rather stressful for individuals who came up with something first lose to someone who took great inspiration from their design, and entered with a visually similar piece.

please remain civil in the comments, and note with which point you happen to agree/disagree, along with your own input! :-)

VERY MUCH AGREE!
I'd also like maybe less of the 10 designs per page with 20+ pages content, as it was very annoying to wait 30 seconds for everything to load and then repeat that 20+ times

im glad you posted this so soon! i did win one of the contests, (woohoo!) but i agree the voting was a bit difficult.

i play on mobile most of the time, and clicking through the pages and having to restart after voting discouraged me from doing it- i think i only ended up voting for 2 or 3 categories because it got exhausting. an idea i saw in chat was one appearing at a time with a “yay” or “nay” button, and i liked that idea

i also don’t think we should’ve been able to click on an entry and see the entire wardrobe plan, because then someone could have opened one, changed a few things, and resubmitted it as their own

but i really liked this contest! i love wardrobe designs and seeing other people’s ideas so i hope more come from this

i don't think the same person should have been able to of won multiple design contests like at all tbh it's definitely super discouraging to see the same persons name multiple times on each contest /exagg
i also think the display for it sucked especially because of mobile players no one's got any gawd damn patience to go through 20 pages /lh i think if it all stacked on the same page that'd be easier, because you can just scroll

I definitely agree about anonymous designs, a great shame this wasn't thought of by the team from the start. As a legitimate win from a popular player could spark a bit of an eyebrow raise and it just isn't fair on anyone. I wouldn't like to think it would put people off of entering or make the contest feel slanted. Anonymity would have protected everyone

I'm a little on the fence about number 3, as it can be useful to see submissions so that you can make something different and stand out.

Maybe, the people who enter cannot vote for designs, this gets rid of a tactical element and also, you don't want to be accidentally jeopardising your own position

But big support from me, all great suggestions above, especially alyson's point about being able to see the whole wardrobe plan, that's a bit I didn't like that at all either.

EDIT: Forgive my previous version of this comment, the dumb fingers write faster than the brain and heart a lot of times.

To preface: you were NOT rude or condescending in any way in this post.
I agree and like all you said!! I did just only want to mention, if I’m not mistaken this was one of the first contests of its kind (that I’ve seen anyway) so it makes sense that some parts were maybe not thought of or overlooked or something. :) I just felt like I needed to say that for the previous commenters (again I swear I’m not throwing shade, y’all are fine).
But rival, I like that you made this post and you made very good points!! :)

Oh also supported!! ^^

To piggyback on alyson's reply, I definitely agree that tweaks need to be made to how entries are displayed during voting time, especially if there's a reward for voting. Each vote awarded 5 SB, 5 votes were allowed for each of 12 categories. This means a total of 300 SB was available to claim simply from clicking a button. Factor in impatience or lack of time, and you have the entries on the first and last few pages garnering more votes than the center pages. If you need SB and don't have much time to play, why thumb through 20+ pages?

That being said, I don't think having the entries appear one at a time is a good idea for the previously stated reasons. If you're combating a patience/time issue arising with 20 pages, just imagine how many entries would go unseen with several hundreds of single-entry pages per month category. As far as the first contest, the least amount of entries for a single category was 275 (May).

I'm not too sure on how to remedy this issue without more cons than pros, but maybe others have ideas? Displaying all the entries on one page would undoubtable generate tons of lag for many people. Randomizing the entries every single time one entered a given month's category would leave too much power to RNG, and could result in a lot of frustration should a voter misclick, or their device die, crash, reboot, etc. and now they have to go through 20+ pages for that one entry you liked because it could be anywhere when they've been rerolled. Having only a few released at a time, competing with each other with only one vote allowed per category per group released (similar to the regular polls) would take far too long considering there were literal thousands of total entries.

I'm sure there's a solution somewhere
