Introduction
This forum will host the canon stories to my pride. Not all lions in my pride will appear, as some are inconsequential to the story I have planned! In each installment, I will have any lions features linked to their lion pages for ease of viewing. More or less this is a personal thing, a fun little project to keep me engaged. Of course, I'd welcome any comments feel free to post here! This first post will also serve as a chapter guide, linking to each following post.

Famine was a tragic beast. An unrelenting force with no pity for the already ill and weak. Rumor, her spiritual sisters, and a hopeful young lioness had long since left their original pride in search of healthy land. Those they left behind began shunning them even prior to their departure. They believed the Gods they worshipped and adored would provide for them even when the land could not. Fever was a priestess of her own right, a spiritual lioness with a strong connection to that of other worlds, and even she could see the flawed logic they stood so strongly beside.

She was no fool. She certainly wasn't going to let such a tragedy claim the lives of those she held dear. When Dusk lost her mother during the beginning of the end she had effectively linked herself to Fever. Claiming the cubless lioness of her new mother, seeking comfort and guidance in the priestess.

It was Fever's idea to leave. An idea quickly adopted and preached by Rumor. Pleading more to join them, wanting to save everyone she could. Only one other listened, a trained huntress who could help provide once they arrived in better lands, Ark. They were biding their time. Trying to prepare as best they could before leaving the only home they had ever known, however, once the shunning began Fever wasn't going to let them lash out at Dusk. With what little preparation they had, they left. Setting off from the craggy mountains to the South. Often Rumor would meet with Fever. Discussing if she had felt any sort of pull in a direction, any nod from the Gods they were doing the right thing.

Months passed. Months of hungry, tired nights were spent huddled in a large pile to conserve heat. Passing through lands of different types. Marshes that soaked their paws and left them feeling heavier than when they began. Deserts filled their fur with sand and left an uncomfortable sort of aching in their throat. When they crossed into woodland, Rumor was hopeful. That hope quickly dashed when the acrid scent of ash and past fires burned their nostrils.

Then they began passing bodies, or rather, what was left of bodies. Bones, skin, and remains half buried in dirt and ash. Unrecognizable other than the size. Mewling echoed through the ravaged remnants of the pride. Two pitiful little voices calling for help from anyone nearby.

Despite not having the means dying surrounded by the warmth of bodies was better than dying in a cold, ashy graveyard. It was here they collected Eris and Akira. Two small, deeply toned cubs with strange energy followed them. Fever could feel a pull. A tug in the back corner of her soul to them both. However, knowing how crushed Rumor had been when her last intuition had been wrong she decided to keep it close to her chest. A quiet little secret she would keep until she had proof.
