Have you tried interacting with the events? The events change from month to month and usually offer exclusive items you can't get other times of the year so I find them a fun motivation outside of the normal exploring. This months event has 3 different shops full of items exclusive to this event so I spend a ton of time every day trying to gain as much currency to buy as many of the items I want that I can, there's even applicators to turn your plain default king to a gorgeous colorful customized king. They offer daily quests that give you rewards for completing. There's also the quests from the green Questing snake on the crossroads. As you get more lions as well breeding becomes a lot more engaging. Picking the perfect stud for your lionesses, breeding for specific mutations or rare bases that can only be achieved through a specific combination of parents genetics. Attacking other lions for territory and stats is also an early activity to keep up on. Finding a king close to your level and going to their profile and attacking them can give you a chance at gaining an extra territory space for lionesses, experience or impression for your king, etc. Another thing I enjoy is decorating my lions/lionesses. Theres such a huge array of decor in Lioden and a lot is fairly accessible early on (especially if as I mentioned before, you interact with the events as they often have a lot of super cool limited time decor), I spend a ton of time meticulously decorating my lions the way I want them. I also usually every day go to the Games on Crossroads, and will attempt to get a good score on Reptile Roundup, use my 2 kicks for the day for Baoball that give you a stat boost, and if I'm feeling like it I may play one or two of the other games.
