This suggestion's a simple one. Chatter needs a moderator approved spring cleaning badly! Pinned posts in chatter are threads produced by moderators or community menbers whom staff have decided were accurate and useful enough at the time to be nailed to the top of their category's page for all time. Some remain useful, such as moderator outlines on forum rules. Some have been neglected to the point that they have cartoon moths flutter free when you open up their dusty pages. And yet, still they hang nailed to the wall as the most complete authority on a given subject. To a new player it gives the wrong idea about the site and sometimes even mis-informs them about key features like mutations, items and events! A couple of the "Abandoned" posts ~ Xylax's custom decor approval page Last updated 2015, LOCKED in 2018 Does not serve a purpose after changes to custom decor making. ~ List of approved guides Last updated 2021 The update seems to only have added the vredefort guides. Most other links are either broken or outdated. This is the worst offender and links to a lot of misinformation for a mod-approved post. It can be hard to keep a cultivated list like this but keeping it pinned just leads to more confusion. ~ There are more pinned posts that haven't been updated for a long time that could use some love, but I've chosen two moderator ones to keep things neutral Disclaimer This post is not designed to disrespect guide creators who can no longer maintain their posts but to bring to moderator attention the problem with keeping them pinned as relevant information. Please be respectful in comments and feel free to share your own suggestions for this issue as well as your reasoning for your support or lack thereof!
