This is suuuuper rough, so any suggestions are very appreciated! Just remember that I want to brainstorm this game in a way where it CANNOT be exploited! Keep this in mind! Goodie bags have been disabled for a lot of things ranging from technical difficulties, to unhappy player complaints. There isnt much of a use for them anymore other than mayyybe keeping it a surprise when the items are sent? But not everyone has the time to take that extra step to send a gift to someone. I think to bring back the excitement and fun of goodie bags, we need something focused on goodie bags, and goodie bags alone. That's why I propose: The Goodie Bag Roulette We have games exclusive to march and august, so why not add another to the list? This is a game exclusive to the games section in crossroads! But I'm also open to the possibility of it being added to the event page. This is a minigame exclusive to December. Players can donate goodie bags, but the sender remains anonymous. In this game, donating goodie bags can get you tickets, the more goodie bags you donate, the more tickets you get! Varying from bronze, to silver, to gold! Turning in enough goodie bags will yield you tickets. With your tickets you can With your tickets, you can enter the goodie bag roulette, and depending on the tickets you have, you can enter for rewards! Donating 1 goodie bag will give you a bronze ticket, while donating 5 at once will give you a silver ticket! Donating 10 goodie bags at once will give you a gold ticket. Still wondering how the game should actually play, so any suggestions in this area would be super helpful! Meanwhile, here are some rules! 1. You can only do 3 rolls a day. 2. Goodie bags remain anonymous, though people can mention their donations in chat! 3. The tickets could either be an in hoard item, or an event currency that saves every year! If it were an in hoard item, I'm still thinking on whether or not they would be tradeable. 4. Goodie bags must have 3 or more items in it Before you click that no support, please let me know why or how to make it better! I'm open to listening to all sides ^o^ |

I dont believe that's possible to code... no support. Checking the value of what's inside a goodie bag will lag the server insanely. It would need to run a script for each item comparing it to other items in sales to get a value - we dont even get a script checking if Gorilla Cub is possible/present on sales because it'd strain the server too much, this script would surely collapse the server entirely if it was made.  And there is no way to make a uniform "basic" value for items because they constantly fluctuate, Lion Scrotums currently are worth more than Ochre Gnawrocks, in previous year, they costed a lot cheaper, etc. There is no way to "set" a value to an item, and searching for each goodie bag will hurt the server. 0 players like this post! Thats definitely true, and I have considered that! Do you think there's a way to not have that happen? Like perhaps instead of goodie bag rarity, its just the number of goodie bags donated? 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yeah you could totally do that! Maybe gold/silver/bronze dictates how many goodie bags you get from a pull since you only have 3 turns a day! Gold could give 3 goodie bags, Silver 2, and bronze 1 0 players like this post! Like? |

No support. The value checking seems impossible to code effectively, not to mention that most items do not have a set price if they're not available in Monkey Business or the Oasis. The value system could work only if players could only create goodie bags that have either Oasis or Monkey Business items in them, as this wouldn't strain the server as the items have a set, defined price. You also did not mention whether how many uses an item has would affect this system at all - a background with full uses is definitely worth more than one with 1 use left, but in this system, you could donate an item with full uses and get an item with 1 use left, due to both items being in the same "rarity" category. I also do not think it would be wise to be able to upgrade bronze ticket to silver etc - this would encourage players to donate quantity over quality. Edit: the edited game still encourages guantity over quality - players would have no reason do donate goodie bags with contents other than common explore items and players would end up being disappointed with the goodie bags they get, similar to how it was back when goodie bags could be donated to the Giving tree. There is also the issue with item uses that I mentioned earlier - receiving an item with only 1 use could lead to players being disappointed, if they had been anticipating getting a full use rare item with their gold ticket. 0 players like this post! I just had a thought most of those golden ticket items are from an event. So what if, instead of a ticket it gives you that much event currency for either an event of your choosing or a random event. And a lot of those silver ticket items are jackpots from the slot machine, what if donating silver ticket items gets you 500 sb 0 players like this post! Like? |
