So, I love this game. It's a great time, and reminds me somewhat of a game I used to play in my teenage years. HOWEVER

I have no idea what I'm doing. I am exploring with my rolled king, collecting NCLs, feeding, playing, etc. But I want to get into breeding. Breeding SUPER clean cubs, with exceptional marking and stats. Buuuut where do I start? Can I change my king? I've changed his base and added markings and whatnot, do I just stick with doing that? What direction do I start with when wanting to breed like this?

I've only been playing for a few weeks. If someone would want to give me some tips and achieving WICKED genetics and stuff, I'd be super grateful. I definitely need friends lol.

So when it comes to changing your king, you have a couple options. You can continue as you have been, using applicators to improve markings, explore a lot and use items to improve his stats (things like broken drones, coconuts, UAV's, Giant Tortoises, etc are great for improving stats, as well as just generally leveling up and gaining impression). If your biggest goal is clean breeding then this is probably ideal as rolled kings are G1 and thus very desirable for keeping lineages clean and short. When your lion is 15-16 years old you can replace him for free with either another male you own, or roll for a new lion. Alternatively you can pay 10GB to retire him early at any time you please. When replacing him with another male that you own, you have 2 options, replace him entirely, or keep his markings (but lose his lineage stats and mutation if he had one) and use the new males lineage, stats, and mutation instead. Regardless of which you choose, your females matter too since they're half the equation. You can get lucky with NCL litters for sure but unless you're doing it in massive numbers it's not very effective. If you have managed to build up any currency you can often find relatively cheap but pretty cubs on the trading post or in auction threads. Just make sure to check their lineage even if the post says clean, as unfortunately sometimes people mislabel their lions. I'd also recommend using either the wardrobe or the wiki to find markings and bases that you like, to give you a direction to search for. And always keep an eye out for good studs. Sometimes you have an exceptional female who's markings may not pair well with your males markings. Some bases can ONLY be achieved by breeding specific bases together, and these bases can be much more valuable. And lastly of course if you want to breed clean lions, your male can't breed his daughters! So if you keep any offspring for yourself then you will have to stud out their future heats. I'll cut myself off there as this is already a novel, hope it helps!
