 Since many of the lion clans encountered in November (Transvaal, Katanga, Tsaavo, etc.) have manestyle counterparts I thought it would be fun to do a mockup mane for the Kalahari lion.  Inspired by the encounter image and real-life photos of Kalahari lions.  NEW 2024 I also made a simple breakdown of this mane design to highlight differences with existing manes! To me the square "blockiness" of the mane shape and the cheek furs should be enough to set it apart. Again I tried to capture some features from photos of real Kalahari lions   |
