Just a thought I had while exploring. There's already an auto claim feature using gold beetles, but what if there was an option where you could offer an item (food/toy) to the lioness as a safe bump in their progress bar? Something that you could do if you were super close to claiming them but nervous about hitting that last button in case it goes wrong or wanting a safe boost at the very start. One time use per claim obviously, and it would use up the item (similarly to the giving tree with cubs) but I think it would be an interesting concept.
