If you don't have a cub that was born with a visible mutation like piebald, patches, primal variations, etc. then you can check it with the Falcon's Eye to see if it has an adult mutation. That will not appear when born and will show up when the cub turns 2 years old.

It will say "Oh... oh dear. I am afraid it is bad news. There is some abnormality with your youngling -insert name here- . I am very sorry for the result."
