I think this would be great.
“This isn’t realistic”
Lions in this game already can have piercings and mohawks and leather gear. They can already have feathers and flowers in their manes. Primals are unrealistic. Angel and demon lions are unrealistic.
There is no reason why them braiding their manes would be out of line.

I think it’d be an interesting idea and I agree with kirill that realism shouldn’t be a reason to shut down this idea. Primals are a good example of a mutation that doesn’t exist and deviates a lot from reality. This game while sticking somewhat to realism is very fantastical and one look at the majority of lions here makes that clear. I think it’d be interesting to see in the game even if it’s not a mutation and instead a regular mane type. There should be more discussion elaborating on what exactly is meant by kinky hair/locs though and maybe some concepts made as that’s probably a reason people seem to be so against it.

Curly hair does happen in cats (and in lots of other mammals), It's called the rex mutation ^^

yea i think it would also be nice as a regular mane option i just couldnt find that forum when i had the idea :3 maybe someone who's good at drawing can make the concept art eventually!

Sick of seeing people rudely say they don't support cause it's "Not realistic" as if we don't have highlighter lions in the game. This idea would be really pretty, and a good alternative could be a decor made for lionesses meant to give them locs! Curly hair happens in animals, and this mutation would simply be a stylized version of it and you have my support!

This makes me think of dog breeds whose hair can do something similar. I think this sounds fun... even if it's just a decor akin to mane braids! :)

supported! we have plenty of "unnatural" manes & mane mutations already (sideward & mane noble come to mind, lions don't have emo hair lol). maybe it could be another mane mutation resulting from breeding two kinds of mane genetics together, like noble/succubus?
