That's the problem, everybody has different definitions. :,D

The only thing I consider junk is items without a use. If you can't craft with it, equip it, play with it, or eat it then it's junk to me. If a use gets added to it then it's no longer junk.

Lots of players consider the scars you get from hunting junk but you can craft with some of them and you can equip all of them.
Others consider the herbs junk, but you can craft with them or feed them to your beetle.

If someone considers something junk there's almost always someone willing to buy that junk to use somehow. One man's trash is another man's treasure, and all that.

most junk consists of items you easily receive all the time in explore, like rocks, gems, herbs, explore decors like a fire background from august, some explore backgrounds from october, and more common ones like the giant pouched rat, albino ball python, bees, crows, moonlight, spiders, etc.
however a lot of it in bulk is helpful for crafting, so in the right situations people do want that stuff
