Prader-Willi syndrome is a chromosomal disorder that causes many deformities such as small hands/feet, short stature, narrow forehead, weak muscles, and slow development. But the most notable symptom is a brain problem that causes them to permanently feel as though they are extremely hungry. This often leads to obesity, diabetes, and other issues associated with overeating. Parents of children with this condition often have to lock up food and monitor them when they’re outside, in the bathroom, or virtually anywhere else—they’ll often become so desperate they eat things that aren’t food. While the condition is manageable in humans, lions would obviously have a hard time making sure their cub is healthy but isn’t annoying them too much. An art change wouldn’t be compulsory, but it would be a nice touch. “Your lioness gave birth to Cub, who appears small and floppy but seems to nurse a lot more than the other cubs. You hope all the nutrients can get them back to normal… but it doesn’t seem to work.” Once weaned, cubs with Prader-Willi syndrome will gain more hunger and require more food to sate their hunger. “Your lion crunches away at the carcass. That should keep it satisfied for a while… but it doesn’t. They still insist they need more food.” Training them will be difficult… “You couldn’t get Cub to train with you. They wouldn’t stop crying about how they’re starving even though they just ate.” …and between 6 and 11 months you will receive one of two death messages: “Cub ate so much food last night that their stomach ruptured, killing them.” “Cub left your territory in search of food after you and your pridemates refused to give them any. They were killed by a predator before they could find anything.” |

i kinda imagine art for this mutation like this: a chubby salivating cub with bloated stomach, idk maybe growling from starvation (something similar to adol female art, but with more desperate expression)... oh, how about after the cub reaches 5 months you could still feed the cub even after maxing out their hunger bar, the feed option would dissapear after like 1 additional feeding - no extra stats can be gained from that, but maybe there could be high chance for some flavor text about the cub being gluttonous or something? the other idea for this is for the cub to gain 20-40% hunger randomly after being fed, giving the option for 1 extra feeding and high chance for flavor text Flavor text ideas: "You refuse to give CUB more food, even after they looked at you with the most pleading miserable expression you have ever seen, however their enormous apetite fills you both with worry and disgust. Even you can't that much in one day." "You refuse to give CUB more food, you even made sure that other pride members weren't stealing their food, monitoring the cub during their feeding time, but that's waaaaay to much food for little cub. You try to stay positive, thinking that they might grow up from this gluttonous phase." "You refuse to give CUB more food, you made sure that they ate their meal and didn't steal food from other pride members, so they could eat in peace. Their uncontrolled gluttony and unwillingess to train is worrying you." Other random flavor text ideas: "You were supposed to get rid of some left over rotting food, but you catch CUB eating the inedible meat, devouring it in some desperate looking fit, not caring for the odor or gathering insects." "You see CUB gnawing clean some bone, they abandon it running to you and asking for food. This cub needs to stop thinking with their stomach." 3 players like this post! Like? |

I feel uncomfortable about incorporating human disabilities onto lions. It’s one thing to use mutations that occur in the wild, but human ones that aren’t found naturally in lions is in bad taste. I know someone with Prader willi syndrome and I would hate to see their struggle caricatured for the entertainment of a silly lion game. We shouldn’t equate humans with disabilities to animals 6 players like this post! Like? Edited on 19/04/23 @ 22:46:14 by teddy -G2 Clouded Orchid (#349583) |
