Welcome to the MoonClan Roleplay!
Owner: Vulture / Co-Owner: Clementine
Everything is at the very start, so it may take a bit to have everything done :D (note: a time skip has occurred from the previous roleplay - about a moon or two, so I will age up each character accordingly)
Season: GreenLeaf:
The prey is running well! Clan spirits are high, but borders still need to be patrolled! Occasional rainstorms are not unheard of!
Last Gathering Summary:
The clans are doing well! Despite ShadowClan’s growing anger at the border, the leaders were able to diffuse any argument that threatened the peace.
Roleplay:
- no lore yet (in writing & big event/thing in planning)
- based on warrior cats and the map of the first season (without human places, barns ect)
- nothing out of the warrior cats world: no superpowers or pink fur (etc)
- no twolegs/humans, just peaceful woods and other natural environments
- no starclan prophecies without asking the owner or co-owner
- there are still: Riverclan, Shadowclan and windclan, MoonClan is there instead of Thunderclan (and always was)
- please no major time skips, it confuses everyone else participating in the roleplay (try to keep the roleplay slow, so that people also have time to respond)
- DONT play as someone else's main character! You'll be reminded but if you cross the line too often you will be blocked (this is what NPCs are for)
- DONT decide for other people's main characters
Background Story:
Eclipse’Star was a black she-cat with white underfur that seems to highlight her pelt in the moonlight. Eclipse’Star was thought to be the next great warrior ever since her birth. She was born to the greatest leader at the time, Night’Star, her father, and her mother Shining’Sun, who was the deputy. Two of the greatest warriors MoonClan had ever seen.
Eclipse’Kit had a lot of expectations on her, being the only kit of the two. When she became an apprentice, her parents would teach her behind the scenes to make her look smarter. All this extra training did pay off, making Eclipse’ Shine another feared warrior of MoonClan. She quickly rose the ranks, and now only stood below her parents. Eclipse’Shine never really had any friends, she was always pushed to work always a she never really got a break.
She started secluding herself even from her parents. She would spend long days and nights out in the forest, honing her skill. Many of the cats in MoonClan became unnerved by her presence. She was a dark cloud in the usual bright presence of her parents.
In the shadows, as they usually do, ShadowClan was rising. They were gathering strength, planning to take back much of the land that had been previously taken by MoonClan.
In the darkest night, when no moon shone in the sky, they struck. They ambushed the camp, quickly taking control of the battle as the MoonClan cats struggled to even identify their attackers. Many of the younger warriors ran away quickly, and soon the ShadowClan Warriors managed to have both Night’Star and Shining’Sun cornered. Eclipse’Shine was nowhere to be seen. Two great warriors fell that night, surrounded by enemies, rather than friends. The ShadowClan cats killed any cats they found in the camp, luckily most of the elders and kits had already left, but when they stumbled on a strange black cat, that seemed to glow in the night of no light, they descended to kill her as well. Eclipse’Shine single’pawedly defeated the group of warriors. Though they were already wounded from the night, it was no easy feat. But from that day forward, Eclipse’Shine would be forever changed.
When the ShadowClan warriors returned to camp, they were haunted by that mysterious cat, and the death of a few of their younger warriors and apprentices they had left to guard.
Eclipse’Shine was not given the leader title yet, despite being the strongest. It was given to the oldest warrior at the time, Sprout’Wave. He was a decent leader, though under his rule, MoonClan quickly lost all power they had. He forced the clan to move their camp further back into the forest, and they increased border patrols, but were told to never challenge the other clans for any reason. Both ShadowClan and RiverClan pressed on their borders, and chipped away at Eclipse’Shine’s patience.
One night, on the full moon, she snuck out, and murdered Sprout’Star, without a sound. The next morning, when the body was found, the camp erupted into chaos. Eclipse’Shine, who was the deputy, took control, and stated that it had to be from ShadowClan as a warning. A young kit started screeching about having seen something. The kit screeched about a cat, in the silence of the night, snuck into camp and murdered the leader. The kits description fit with the current deputy of ShadowClan. Eclipse’Shine’s first act as leader, was to lead a charge directly into ShadowClan territory. The battle was a slaughter. ShadowClan was left in ruins, even worse that MoonClan had been. They next traveled to RiverClan, and under Eclipse’Star’s leadership, did the same thing. WindClan was only spared due to their lack of sharing a border, and therefore not invading during MoonClan’s down time. Eclipse’Star became known for the brutality and destruction she left in her wake. MoonClan started to fall apart. Cats started disappearing left and right, rumors of ShadowClan and RiverClan banding together started to explode. The whole clan was about to be wiped out. Then, surprisingly, a rogue was the one to step up and save them. Fox knew how to fight. And he knew it well. Many of MoonClan’s warriors left to become rogues and after hearing of the troubles there, he decided to step in. He challenged Eclipse’Star for leadership, and despite being told it didn’t work that way, the two decided on a duel. If Eclipse’Star won, she would continue being leader as she was. If Fox won, he would be invited into the clan, and he could become deputy under his own chosen leader. It wasn’t meant to be a fight to the death, but as the two cats stepped up, it was clear it was. The first half was sure of Eclipse’Star’s triumph, but as the battle went on, it was clear Fox had the upper hand all along. Eclipse’Star didn’t have the knowledge of other ways to fight, only the clan ways, and though she was brutal, Fox was smarter. He fought specific to his opponent. Soon Eclipse’Star became tired, and her strikes had less control over them.
Fox easily managed to kill her, with only a few fancy maneuvers. The terror of MoonClan was gone. Fox chose a leader at random, and served as a full deputy until they died and he became leader. He received the respect he had always wanted but never gotten from his loner life, and the Clan was glad to have someone like him leading them. He was fair, though not a push-over and abided by the code strictly. MoonClan was saved!
