Though I didn't really get into it till a couple years later through reverse g1 barked heats but that took a couple febs to get any to pass. About 5 barked g1 heats until I had something, and then they just exploded from there

Hi!! I’m trying to work towards getting my first tigon/leopon but I’m still a bit confused. What are split heats? Where can I acquire cotton root bark and what’s it’s purpose? How do I increase my chances of breeding a hybrid and I’m also confused on how generations work😭.

It's a lot at first!
Split heats are heats where the owner of the hybrid and the person buying the heat split the cubs born. Usually the buyer gets first pick, then the owner and so on.

Cotton rootbark is available in the oasis for 1GB each. It boosts the chance of mutations occurring in a litter. It has no effect on second-generation tigons/leopons. But does boost the chance of first gens

A first generation is a hybrid born from non hybrid parents. Any lion can pass a hybrid, but it is EXTREMELY rate. Cotton root bark (crb) helps this occur more often but it still take ALOT to get one to pass. These ladies have a 10% pass rate per cub

A non first gen hybrid is one with a hybrid parent of the same type ex tigon with a tigon mom, these ladies have a 5% pass rate per cub born.

thank you gonvoyage, i've had a friend of mine have gons and pons, but they never told me how to get them. i think i have enough gbs for heats but I've seen so many people pay for heats and get nothing, so I'm scared to waste my gbs for nothing, cause i dont have many breeding items the only thing i have rn is lion meat, is that a good item to try and get a pon or gon?

Do you recommend a certain number of hybrids as a safety net to be born for folks like me who want to hoard them and always have one on hand before selling/giving extras away? Or is it what I assume is just hoping and good luck? XD I know rng can be unkind to a 5% chance certainly, but I wasn’t sure if you’d found a relatively safe number to hold at before selling/giveaways, or if it’s been close cut to lose hybrids without having backup even with a large count at hand.

I don’t want to make the mistake I did before again, so I assume a hybrid swap for new blood or keeping and breeding the offspring to try to have at least a couple is best before worrying about sales (using a scrot each litter can be pricy xD) or giveaways. Not sure if you’ve had any experiences like that. X3

That's a very fair fear, I personally have been stalking to TC lately and have found quite a few really nice ladies with 2-4 heats under 150GB This may be a route you prefer?

Correct a g1 can not be bred by breeding that same hybrid mut. Though there have been cases where a tigon has had a first gen leopon and vice versa

Modestly probably about 8-10, but the more you acquire the more you would have for giving out. I also wouldn't recommend holding any gon/pon if it hasn't passed on it's 6th or very latest 7th heat that way you can regain some of the GB spent.

During peak of Buffalo Price season, I found having about this much allowed me to sell one cub to cover the next cycle of heats but do be prepared to dry spells I've had 17 heats in a row without a gon in sight. But this amount would be harder to give away as frequently.
