Dwarfism is hereditary in real life so why not in game? I’m still relatively new to lioden so apologies if this has been said a million times before me. That said from a new player perspective the dwarf mutation in game doesn’t make much sense, first off it’s more expensive to breed for a dwarf then a dwarf actually sells for, male dwarves have zero value as well due to lion scrotums being the only way to pass the dwarf mutation. Yet I’ve been told the reason we will never see a new hybrid mutation is because Lioden desires to maintain realism with it mutations. So then shouldn’t mutation inheritance also at least semi mirror this?

I have mixed feelings on this

I feel like if it was hereditary they would begin to lose their value and will become less sought after in the market hence putting breeders (if you could even call them that?) out of business.

But then again if it remains as not hereditary, they could slowly lose numbers in game eventually and are super difficult to obtain especially by newer users.

Support. Dwarves have already essentially lost a lot of their value and aren't really sought out as it is, nowhere near back when they used to go for at least 200GB whether they were inbred or not. Add that to the fact that they can only be passed down via Lion Scrotums, an item you can only really obtain (outside of buying it from another player) for one month out of the year and even then it's a 25% chance that requires you to have a Lion Scrotum every single time you breed if you want the mutation to pass and all that adds up to a mutation that is just a hassle to breed for with little in the way of gains for doing so.

Ok here's me and a friend's thoughts. Make males passable. At a low rate. And lion scrot the girls so the scrots can still have some value. And the value has gone down a lot over the years. Especially when. You sometimes have to pay 80 gb for the lion scrots.

I don't think making cubs and adult females equally worthless as adult males is the way to fix this problem.
From what I can see, Lion Scrotums are worth about 20 and the cheapest dwarf cub I could find in TC is up for 40 , which is literally twice as much as the item costs. Even the addition of a ~15 Buffalo Scrotum keeps the breeding price below what the cheapest cubs go for.

I'm also not sure where you got the quote about no new hybrids or maintaining realism from - it has been confirmed that a third hybrid mutation is in the works, and the realism has died the moment owners started introducing pink, green and blue bases.

No support, sorry!

Ninque they got to 80 in October about, so that price isn't going to help in a few months, and they wouldn't be worthless especially if you make it so only males can pass. Plus there would be worth with double uterus so it would still be needed so if their worth drops it'd be tiny still.

They also made this before the live stream. So there was no third hybrid when this thread was made.

In a few months Lion Scrotums will be available in yet another event if you didn't stock up in February, so I'd expect the price to go down again.
Anything that can be mass breed is going to become worthless. Piebalds, patches, primals, rosettes, certain RLs etc. - there's a lot of examples of that happening now and in the past. It's not something you can argue with as every market works that way, not just the pixel lion game one.

They quoted a sentence that no admin has ever said and I have referred to that fact. The potential third hybrid was never denied.

No those are Buffalo scrotum that are available in August. Lion scrots are once a year sadly.

I know it was never denied at all but remember they are newer and could have taken the know cheetah lions as a No more hybrid lions.

Lion Scrotums are available during February and May events.

This is turning into a battle of assumptions unrelated to the topic. I'm standing by my no support vote as I believe there is no reason to destroy the value of every mildly rare or expensive thing in this game.

No support. Dwarf values are already quite low, I see absolutely 0 reason to implement an even faster way to tank their value.

Even if the males had a low pass rate, say 1%, there are players like myself with 200+ territory who could simply mass breed ncls over and over to get as many as they could as quickly as they could.

I understand that it is frustrating, especially with how expensive the lion scrotums can get, when they don’t pass even with a buffalo scrotum used but that’s just a part of the risk of choosing to breed them. Just like the people who like to breed DUs or mane mutations like mane imperial.
