Status: OPEN - collecting entries Since races are more fun in a group, there will be an entry period to collect multiple participants before winners are found. I may also close races (as well as other thread activities) if I know I’m unable to be active soon. Race status will be listed above.
In order to be able to race, birds must be registered in the directory and have health stats higher than 2.
(If your bird’s health is 2 or lower, right now it can only regain health by getting stat boosts from pageants.)
How It Works
Races are in actuality raffles. Each stat from Speed, Agility, Endurance, and Intelligence translates to a ticket. You can increase, but not guarantee, your bird’s chance of winning by increasing its stats. Birds can get stat boosts from participating in pageants and races.
Race entries cost 50 per bird.
The rewards are as follows:
Winner: Possible leveling up, stat boost, prize.
Runner-Ups (places 2-3): Possible leveling up, possible stat boost.
Loser: Possible stat boost, possible health stat loss.
SB prizes are drawn from the entry earnings. The more entries, the larger the prize pool.

1 Win = Level 2
2 Wins = Level 3
4 Wins = Level 4
5 Wins = Level 5
7 Wins = Level 6
10 Wins = Level 7
13 Wins = Level 8
17 Wins = Level 9
22 Wins = Level 10
Continue following system prev # of wins required for level + new level’s # minus 4

Author’s Note
Although these are just games, because of the heavy research done to create a realistic feel I think it’s important to dispel any misinformation they may cause. In real life, pigeon racing is cruel in the same way that having an “outdoor cat” is - and in some aspects even more so. Similar to pet cats, domestic pigeons are an invasive species, don’t have any significant survival skills (this one applies mostly to pigeons), and are extremely vulnerable to predation and disease. Plus, if lost racers are lucky enough to be rescued, often their original owners don’t want them back because they’re losers, and they may be culled if returned anyway. I elected to keep pigeon racing as a minigame because we’re just playing with pixel birds that cannot feel pain or die, but in real life it’s not as ethical.
