Hi I’m new to this. I was just wondering the best ways to make my King have higher stats because despite leveling up, they seem to be pretty low still, and I don’t know if there’s more that I could do. Thank you.

Feeding him stat-giving food can improve his stats a bit - like later this month, Egg Yolk item can give some stats. However, starter kings arent really worth investing so much to raise their stats; it wont make him more wanted, and stats dont do much in-game except being higher numbers on a page for the competetive feeling.

Its best to use those Egg Yolks to buy yourself a higher-statted, better heir, and for getting GB for switching kings. Egg Yolks sell very well.

In addition to what Mad Hyena said, you can also play the mini game Baoball every day to gain between 2-4 stats. And if you spar with a submale (on your den page) once per day, you can gain exp or stats.

Yes, and improving impression past Dreamboat level gives 5 stats each time

So...do you eventually just change males then? I don't really understand. Isn't the male you have your king? Do you switch kings? How do you switch kings? Why would another king have more stats if they've only just become your king?

Yes, you change your kings - you have to once they're too old, in fact, you cant keep a lion forever! But starter lions are very unwanted in breeding, they have no special marks, no special traits, and low stats - breeding them will produce very simple, basic cubs.

You can retire your king to a better heir - a male, adult or cub, that has better things on him than starter rolled male. Like special marks, or a mutation, or a special base, or much higher stats than starter king. There's a link "Retiring your king" at the bottom of his page, you can retire your king there. If he's under 15 years old, it will cost GB to retire him, if he's older, you can retire him for free!

Alright, that's helpful. How do you get the new king to have higher stats than the old king does? Is it like, through actions like patrolling and breeding your king with lionnesses that have higher stats since their stats go up via hunting?

Its both!
You begin with breeding higher statted lionesses to kings - hunting your lionesses will make them gain stats, and you can send stud requests to other people's kings with high stats to have higher statted cubs.
Once you have a heir you want to king, you can raise his stats! First you cub train it - via cub training page from crossroads - and then, once its adult, you patrol it to gain more stats. You can also give the cub stat-giving foods and toys to make them gain more stats.

But again - it only matter with "good" lions, that have lots of special traits on them. Otherwise, training and using items on a basic simple cub isnt really worth it - stats dont do much in-game.

Yep, once your king turns 16 years old he is forced to retire, though you can retire him at 15 years old for free as well. Ot you can pay GB to retire a king earlier.

Lots of players ditch their starter kings early with a lion whose appearance they like better, has more stats, is mutated, etc. But a lot of players wait til it's free to replace him, since it's free lol.

When a lion becomes king, they start with the stats they have at the time. So if a cub is born with 500 stats, is trained as a cub and adolescent, and patrols for a while as an adult until they reach 1000 stats, they will have that amount of stats when they become king.
