So, since I just started a bit ago most of my lionnesses are pretty standard. I was wondering what would be the best way to gain some cool markings for them to make them stick out more -- if that is possible in the first place? I know there are marking applicators but I'm unsure which if any are ones that are good/the best to use? Or do I just kinda have to suck up having some plain lionnesses and hope to get a cool looking one from raffle?

Yes, it's possible for you to use marking applicators on them to spice them up! As long as you like the marking, it's generally all good, though colorful ones like pulsar, orchid, and haliotis for example are popular.

However, I recommend saving marking applicators for lions you really like! I personally wouldn't use any on NCLs or plain Jane lions. They're best used on heirs and, again, lions that you already really like.

Here's a tip: people sell really neat cubs for fodder prices. You don't need to keep the standard lions if you don't want to.

Here is a search filter that has a TON of cubs for less than 100 and that have more than 5 markings. You'll see you have a very broad selection. And you can tweak the filter to your liking.
