Hello, I am trying to get into digital art using my mouse since I do not own a drawing tablet, this is my first try at digital art using Paint3D with the spray paint tool, I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice to help me improve? This is my first time doing this! 0 players like this post! Like? |

A mountain range with rivers down one mountain and a waterfall coming from a cave entrance! It's my first try and the reason it is blurry is because it was made with spray paint tool! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Hi! Digital art can be a huge learning curve, so doing this on your first try is a great start. Just from what I’m seeing, it seems you’re going for a realistic or semi-realistic style. If this is the case, then my first tip would be to use less saturated colors. In the real world, very few things are as vibrant as what you’ve got going on. That’s not to say you shouldn’t use bright colors ever. However, studying and attempting to match colors from real life images can help you get an understanding of the colors you should be using to go for a more realistic look. Colors can be very confusing and difficult, but practice will help. I believe studying from life and real images is really important to getting a grasp of things- and then you can stylize from there, if you want. Also, blurry or overly blended pieces can often take away from the visual interest and make it difficult to determine what’s happening. This isn’t always a bad thing, but I encourage you to try some sharper lines and shading, if possible with the program you’re using. It’s much easier to see and correct mistakes or things that don’t look right when you’re working more precisely. Art is supposed to an opportunity to create and express yourself or your ideas. There is no “right way” to do art, so ultimately just do what you enjoy!! 1 player likes this post! Like? |
