The base genetics will tell you everything you need to know about a certain base, but you really only need to look at the rarity part when deciphering value.

There are four types of rarity; common, uncommon, rare, and special. Most if not all special bases are considered the most desirable, however, rarity doesn't always measure desirability.

For example, the base gray is common, however, it's a combo factor, meaning that it can produce a desirable combo base when bred to another specific base. As a blanket statement, all combo bases are desirable.
