Hi! So Iโ€™m doing this project for a 9x Orchid king, hibiscus mane and body and hibiscus Feralis and some other things down the line (rosettes and other stuff on slots 11-20).

I just got lucky and bred a 8x Orchid fem cub, double clean/pureblood, G3. I consider it really good!

The real question is: should I age her and breed till I get x9, or should I save for an applicator and sex change + king her, so that way I have my own stud to continue the project, instead of using 300+ SB every time I wanna project breed.

I donโ€™t really care for the kings heritage since I want to either king a Pie G2 on him or a Groupie with Pie (withered) applicator (the end goal is a G1 king, but I think the first option is a good beginner idea)

Any thoughts on this would be helpful! Iโ€™m really new and still figuring things out :))

If you do the Difficult cub quest in the Gorilla Enclave every day consistently, it'll take you 43 days to get enough MT for the final app. Lionesses have a 20 day cooldown between litters, plus the 3 day incubation period, so unless you get really lucky breeding her that first time, it'll be quicker to get the app yourself! :)

This is just my own two cents, but I wouldn't recommend spending any time or money on slots 11-20. Maybe 11/12 for a couple cosmetic markings, but that's it. RMA projects can be very very expensive - I've spent a total of over 500 GB on them collectively and I've gotten one rosette and 3 or 4 BO raffle markings. Add on the cost of unlocking the hidden markings on every cub, and it'll be pretty expensive. 500 SB per slot adds up very quickly.

A lot of players place very little value in those slots due to that fact, so I see it as a high risk-low reward venture. Of course, if you would like a king with those features, by all means definitely go for it!

Thank you!

Iโ€™m not sure what Iโ€™m gonna do with 11-20 yet, after your comment. I wanted a unique ish king so I decided on 9x Orchid. But to be completely honest I donโ€™t know what makes a stud/king and his cubs valuable. So after the initial idea, I thought โ€œoh, why not try giving him rosettes! People like that right?โ€.

I want to play my way, which is the pretty yet rare route, but I also want to create cubs that would make me GB in the long run.

Also, if you may advising me on something else. My current king, Gallah, I just got him, I started playing literally around 3 weeks ago, it would be a shame to loose him! I have an alt account, but I froze some groupies for the future on there. Should I make the alt account king a stud for future projects and ditch the groupies or retire Gallah? I spend so much actual money on him, and I donโ€™t know if the frozen male groupies are worth it or not. Plus I JUST got him to Dreamboat after grinding for a couple of days.

It's hard to know what players find valuable, especially since you're so new x( The nice thing is, there's a lot of different directions you can go. I've gone through a lot of kings on both my accounts (though my last few kings on my side account for the last couple years have been an ongoing project), and many of them I loved as well. Just liked the heirs better, haha. You can look through my king dynasties to see the evolution on my accounts, if you'd like! It'd be nice if they had their decors as well, but the markings give the general idea, at least.
Main
Side

Male groupies can sell very well, especially between January-April as many months will have passed, and a lot of players won't have a supply on hand for their heritage reps at that point in the year. But, depending on how active you can/want to be, keeping a second account frozen during high-value item events like September and February can suck. September has Ochre Gnawrocks and Saltlicks, which are really helpful for breed only and rosette breeding. And February has Buffalo Scrotums, Lion Scrotums, Yohimbe Barks... So it's ideal imo to use both accounts to grind during those months especially. Even if you don't need any of them personally, you can sell them for really good profit. With one account frozen, you'd miss out on all that extra event currency.

I think you should keep your current king on this account until he retires, and king the new cub on your side! :) It'd be a shame to cut his rule so short. Having two kings is also a really nice creative outlet if you have a couple different ideas for your kings. I personally have one colorbomb king and one natural-esque king at the moment, to satisfy both my love of colorful lions and my apparent enjoyment of difficult and lengthy BO projects.

So ultimately, you may end up really liking a new BO base and king a cub born with the base, and that's fine ^^ Or you could keep those kings for a very long time. I've done both in the past! Whatever you as a player want to go for, even if it's not popular or "mainstream", is the best way to go. Whatever direction it may take you x)

Thank you for the lengthy response! Youโ€™ve had gorgeous kings <333

I think Iโ€™ll take your advice and king the cub on my alt and just kinda ditch the groupies I guess. Although it would be nice to have them, the additional event items and breeding space will be nicer.

Sorry my reply is so short XD thereโ€™s just not much I can think of saying. You helped me a lot, thank you <333

Usually they stay pretty affordable most months, so you can almost always buy them as needed for retirements ^^
