If they are revealed on the parent, they get the same chance to pass as the 1-10 markings.

However if they are hidden on the parent, they never pass.

Markings are locked to their specific slots on each parent. So if you breed to a lion with Noctis Coat in slot 16, the cub can inherit it as a hidden marking. You'll then have to reveal it on the cub for the possibility of breeding it from that cub in the future. That's what Angela was referring to.

You are right :) Rosettes have smaller pass rates, though, so you might have to breed a lot to get it to pass! A lioness with a rosette could end up never passing the marking during her lifetime.

So say you are trying to breed a rosette cub. Say my king has EHR in slot 8 and there's no lionesses with the same rosette in the same slot. In that case should I definitely breed to a lioness with no marking in slot 8, to prevent another marking from overriding the rosette?

Rosettes have crap passrates, so your best bet is to use Gnawrock, but otherwise yes, breed to lionesses without a marking in that slot in order to get the best odds of a natural pass.
