Okay! Super excited for this - he's such a beautiful boy, this is such a gracious thing to do and I'm so grateful for a chance to participate! All the themes are so fun to play around with, and I'm having a blast decorating him as I'm writing this out! Are we allowed to have multiple entries? Thinking of playing around with combining and/or mixing and matching some of the themes :) 0 players like this post! Like? |

I'm going to put a limit on two ! The reasons for this being is that; 1. Two high effort entries seems to be enough to let people exercise their creative minds and win. 2. Not everyone can spend a lot of time decorating on this website, and I feel that this limit is going to level the playing field, especially when pitted against those who could make 5 entries because they have a lot of free time to spare. I'm going to be putting this on the thread now, thanks for bringing it up! 0 players like this post! Like? |

Alright, no problem! Figured I'd clarify - I'm on a break off school and have tons of free time :) My first entry - combination Redwoods Roamer/Flower Boy/Birth of Spring https://www.lioden.com/wardrobe.php?c=9PGJOGjkSn "Abebah (Ethiopian - "Flower") was last tracked in Bénoué National Park in Cameroon, having been separated from his pride in Ethiopia by the attempts of greedy poachers attempting to smuggle him overseas to avoid African anti-poaching laws. With no one to go to, and no clue how to find his way back home, he quickly perished after his already-risky escape from a trailer, only an adolescent; as he slowly starved in the depths of an unfamiliar land, surrounded by nothing but his own solitude and reflection, the gods above took mercy on his soul, moved by the plight of his loss, and raised him into demigodhood. So long as he stays out of trouble, the adolescent welcomes the spring into the forest each year, acting as a spirit-guide for the creatures to come with it. He guides the souls of innocent, poached creatures like himself to the afterlife, so they do not suffer the same grief and loneliness that he had while alive; so they may know a kind face in their departure, to spare them his own fate. It is said that he appears in the vision of any pure human to venture into the forest, and that flowers appear in the wake of his gentle pawsteps." Very loose - may edit to correct later on, but I think it's pretty good (good enough for this entry, anyhow ) Edit 1 - Civet Rib Necklace is in the wrong slot, doesn't matter much; better off removed/disregarded 2 players like this post! I love this! The drapery and white flowers make him so pure and precious. The lore is a fantastic addition to a pleasing design. Great writing!! Your entry will be added to the thread when I get a moment to update it! 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Second entry - combination April Rabbit Hunter/Desert Survivor/Winter Is Coming https://www.lioden.com/wardrobe.php?c=0a6zH58eev "Bracing for a harsh desert winter, Masego (Southern African - "Blessed/Blessed one") is left with just about nothing to do but wait out the cold weather. He and his pride had sustained themselves in the past, hunting the Riverine rabbits abundant in the Karoo, but signs of a stable rabbit population in the future are anything but promising. There's already been a decline in their numbers in recent seasons; it's hard to find hardly any rabbits at all now, let alone even meager morsels like jerboas; winter nights are already bad enough in a regular season, and as his pride begins to grow--and food grows scarcer by the day--the young adolescent can do nothing but worry. Thinking of separation for the good of his loved ones, he wonders often if he could truly brave the desert on his own, especially as cold weather rolls in faster and faster in the near future; left to debate the fate of both himself and his pridemates, Masego is torn between leaving, to conserve resources for the younger cubs and elderly lions who need them the most, or staying, and attempting to support his pride through whatever extra means he can. Donnning rabbit-fur attire to keep himself warm, he decides he must go; and so the young lion sets off, seeking better lands for his starving pridemates while he can." Note about the BG - the Karoo is in South Africa, but the only South African backgrounds I found were Meadows and Bushveld; decided to use Bushveld, since (with a little dust and other stuff going on, too) it could loosely pass as a particularly vegetation-heavy area of the Karoo area. Africa's only desert hares/rabbits (Riverine rabbits; so, not hares) are native/live in the Karoo area, which is why I named them in particular. I value my craft. :) Edit 1: cleaned up some wording 2 players like this post! Like? Edited on 17/06/23 @ 13:01:39 by squimple | G2 15M dappled (#435045) |

This is.. so good! The white dust and rabbit pelts combine to paint a well put together picture. The grassy background was a good choice for the look, and the chitin beetle nose chain was a nice choice for his piebald coat. Heck, your lore is so good that I might contact you in the future to write me some lore! Your second entry is going down now. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I'd absolutely love that! Writing is a huge passion of mine! Whether it be commissions of some sort, or just freelancing for fun for you, I'd absolutely be interested! Would be super interested in whatever you'd have in mind, if you do end up deciding to reach out for that - my PMs are always open! :D 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Hey, I'll likely be ending this contest tomorrow - last entries are going in right now to 6 PM tomorrow. I will not cancel. The lack of interest isn't an issue, but I would like those who put in effort to receive prizes soon. My intention is to distribute nice things to players who want em'! 0 players like this post! Here are my entries! Thanks for the fun contest, he was really fun and still a challenge to decorate! I will day, writing lore is not my specialty, but I can give a synopsis? Hopefully it will work! Entry 1: Survivor of the Desert theme Desert Dust She found herself abandoned in the desert, cast out by the ones she called family, the ones who called her useless; a waste of space and food. As the days grew hotter, and the wind blew stronger, day by day she felt herself becoming... something more. She learned to scavenge from those who suffered a similar fate, and each day she survived took a trophy to remind herself that she still lived. Over time, she remained. Years, then decades came and went, and all the while she remained traveling the desert, becoming a local myth. As each year passed, she became more in tune with the sand, the wind, the sun. Parts of her became parts of the desert, and parts of the desert became her. Eventually, they are almost indistinguishable from one another, as she is the dust storm sweeping the dunes, and the dust storm is her. Locals know if they see a storm roll through with a bit more white in it than usual, it is just her, enjoying her solitude. (In my mind, kind of a desert siren story!) Entry 2: Flowerboy/ birth of spring (but actually flower girl) Springtime fella Local lore in this neck of the woods is that if you look into the flowers, sometimes a face will look right back at you.! She is something old as time itself, believed in myth to be the bringer of green and flowers, founder of joy and life. When she looks upon you, she has nothing but love and kindness in her eyes, and has a particular fondness for watching cubs play with butterflies in her fields. Once, a huge lion was angry and in his rage, tore down hundreds of flowering bushes. This enraged her, so she delivered her only punishment: spring was here, but it was here forever. (Kill em with kindness). The flowers remained blooming, and no fruit were borne. No seeds were created or spread, and the grass never grew taller. The grazing mammals flourished the first year, but became confused by the lack of seasons and failed to reproduce the next year. The rainy season failed to come, ponds and lakes alike dried up. Numbers dwindled, famine welcomed itself into the land, and her curse was not lifted until his entire pride was dead. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Wow, these designs are something to behold! The myth-centric lore pieces are complimentary and very sufficient to the image. Especially that dusty desert one, looking very nice. Your entry will be written down. 0 players like this post! Like? |

“Some say her family left her behind when following the herds, others say she was born from the very sands she lords over. One thing is for certain: She is the goddess of the sand, and absolutely no one can dispute that” this is what you had heard from one of the elders when you asked who ruled this pride. It’s obvious why they say that, with her sandy pelt and golden chains, she really does look like a goddess. Currently she’s sitting on a sandstone layer of the cave, telling some young cubs a story of how she saved her pridemate from a snake. “And with that, I pounced on the snake! It tried sinking its fangs into my flank, missing by a mere hair!” The young cubs around her are clamoring over her to hear the rest of the story. “Did you win?” The sandy lioness turns her head to the cub “Why of course! I’m here today, am I not? Now I must excuse myself… it seems we have a visitor” The cubs clamor their little bodies over her, one falling on their little face and being helped away by their mother. “Good evening traveler, My name is Zova, and I am the current ruler of this pride. I must say, you probably have many questions and stories to tell. Would you like to stick around for the festival tonight?” The lioness, Zova, asks. “Well whatever you decide to do, you will always be welcome, so, Welcome to the sands.” https://www.lioden.com/wardrobe.php?c=44XUw6qQWz ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ May championship idea https://www.lioden.com/wardrobe.php?c=xsOPQrcUoC The crowds are roaring, as another round comes to an end. V’kai pokes you on the side and points with his snout to a lioness walking away from one of the arenas, a small primal cub in tow. “Now do you see those brutes down there, how they rely too much on raw power and take nothing else into account?” The lioness seems to be teaching the cub. How sweet, she looks like a well trained warrior, and seems like she knows what she’s talking about. “That’s Xision, from what I’ve heard around here, she’s a really big deal, even with her being smaller than some of her competitors she ends up winning no matter what.” V’kai informs you. “She’s an actual menace to any champion with a win streak” Xision turns her head and stares directly at you and V’kai, a snarl on her face “Keep your mouth shut! For someone who can’t even make me break a sweat in the arena you sure do talk a lot.” (Well she seems charming)is the first thought that passes through, just as you see her turn away and walk towards another arena with the little primal cub, the cub turning back and sticking its tongue out PFFFT! 1 player likes this post! Your entry is amazing! All these entries definitely have me running for my money. It's going to be very hard to choose. Your lore piece is intriguing and actually makes me want to know more. Your design is so eye-catching, and it's pretty darn put-together, good work! Your entry will be written down. And hey, let me know right now if you'd like a time extension because this day doesn't end for another six hours. If not, I'll be ending the contest in 30 minutes. 1 player likes this post! Like? |
