Putting this down right at the top so people walk in here and don't have to wade through my rambling.

1. Giving tree cubs get tossed after 2 site rollovers
2. 10 daily Gorilla Enclave quests
3. "Celestial Portal" / Murder Rock type thing every month
4. 5 - 10 Tree adoptions a day

I've recently attempted to break into the market of selling cubs and this is not at all what I remember it being. A lot of what is on my mind has been said here and here.

Now to appease the group that will come at me with the whole "things change over time! The market will never get back to how it was when you first started! Back when dinosaurs ruled the earth!" Believe me, I am fully aware of this. I CONSTANTLY chuckle at all the new bases we have on site because I remember way back when I started, there were polls going for the next halloween event base and the staff, at the time, straight up were like "we want to keep lion bases as natural as possible and not get carried away." And then here we are, years later, with the Deci base lmfao I understand things change in time. But if one aspect of the site changes, so do the rest~

I understand that the mutation you bought last year for 300 GB is now worth no more then 90 on a good day. We're getting new members, things happen, the site grows. That's all good! I'm not going to touch too much on the mutation trade today, but instead I'd like to just try and tackle the overabundance of cubs issue as a whole.

I was browsing the forums a day or two ago and saw a suggestion that was like 'ban guilt tripping users when they say they're going to kill a cub if it does not sell'. Or something along those lines. And the whole argument was that it was emotionally manipulative because 'if you don't buy this thing, it's just gonna die'. And I took issue with that. Not because of how it's apparently manipulating emotions, but because we've finally gotten to THAT point. Where if a user does not straight up say 'yo, this thing is going to die' that cub will not sell. I understand both sides of the argument, however I am on the side of it not being emotionally manipulative at all. Because you're just letting other users know, 'hey! If you like this, you should get it before I have to kill it!" (Because some users want the karma of killing cubs/lions in their pride.)

Before I digress further into running the risk of turning this thread into a massive thread of rage comments, let's get to the game changes.

1. Giving Tree cubs are tossed after 2 site rollovers.

I am currently not sure when cubs get yeeted from the tree. If there is a time limit, sweet! But it needs to be shorter. Prior to my hiatus, it was INSANE to see female cubs/adols at the tree. You'd see males hanging out there, but by the end of the day they'd be gone as well. And now there are THOUSANDS JUST HANGING OUT. And they're not just potato cubs! This week alone I have pulled Primal Fangs, a Primal, and a random Pie from the tree. (Insert the 'back in my day' old person voice here) These three things should not be there! But as I have found out myself via trying to sell cubs, it's nearly impossible to sell them for what they're worth. Let alone sell them in general. So people kick them to the tree because maybe they'll find a good home. Those on TOP of all the other cubs that are tossed to the tree daily. We need to get rid of these cubs. If they were unwanted enough to go to the tree, then they will not be missed when the tree clears its inventory out every 2 days.

2. 10 Gorilla Enclave quests a day

1 quest every day is not cutting it to keep the kids off the streets! Er...the cubs out of the tree! The amount of Gorilla Enclave quests need to be increased in order to make some use out of all these cubs. I am fully aware this means there will need to be adjustments to rewards as well as the cost of things at the Enclave to keep things evened out. It won't do anyone any good to see a decrease in cubs being sold for belly lint if we just see an increase in rare marking apps now being sold for dirt cheap. The cost of the shop would need to be adjusted. (I am aware this is no small task and a lot of users would come at me with pitchforks.)

3. "Celestial Portal" / Murder Rock type thing every month

This is my first July since my years long hiatus. I was surprised to see the Murder Rock was replaced with a Celestial Portal. But I'm loving the new items that you can get from it! But we need more features like this monthly. Or, at the very least, every other month. This will help with the influx of lionesses. And people will want to hoard their own cubs more to ensure they have something to toss to the stone/portal once it's unlocked.

4. 5 - 10 Tree adoptions a day

Finally, I get to this. Even with the cubs being cleared from the tree every two days, the amount of users that are now active on lioden as well as the amount of cubs being bred, means the tree will fill back up very, very, quick. If people insist on tossing mutations at the tree to give someone a good day, then alright! That's cool! I love little acts of kindness! But you're never going to find them under the 789304739874309 potato cubs before the tree clears out its inventory. (I'm being dramatic. You probably will but you still will have a lot of cubs that won't see the light of day again.) At least this way, people can try and clear the tree themselves without the tree having to yeet things itself.

FOR ALL 'SHOP' RELATED LION DONATIONS:
The rarity of the base should be taken into account and be given better rewards then other lions that were offered up. I only bring up the rarity of the base and not markings because that is far easier to code into shop rewards then going through all the markings on a lion and then giving out additional rewards for the marking rarity. (For example: The monthly murder stone should give more currency when a lion with a special/rare base is offered. A more 'default' or 'baseline' reward would be given for common and uncommon rarity bases.)

In time I fully understand that prices will eventually 'right' themselves. But with the big influx of new users and the amount of cubs being bred, we're currently stuck in limbo. We will NEVER go back to how things USED TO BE, and I get that. But we need solutions to how things are now. We have an overabundance of cubs that go for a fraction of the cost they should be going for, if they sell at all. So instead of arguing about 'the good ol' days' and 'well you just have to get used to the bs that is selling cubs now for 2 sb' we should actually strive towards something new! <3 A new site feature to be implemented later to make the quality of life around here fun, so we can see Lioden grow and still be around in another 10 years.

Lioden is one of my favorite sites. I've been here for a while. I want to see it keep being great, but we need to all put our heads together to see how to help the staff come up with solutions to move forward. <3

A jump from 1 enclave quest to 10 is... extreme. I'm on board with a second quest, possibly. But as someone who averages 1-3 per week (unless grinding an event and need energy), I don't want to get screwed over by each quest being worth less or enclave items going up in price.

The change I'd like to see would be expanding the criteria for quests, maybe adding a harder difficulty that would include special bases, breed only eyes, breed only markings, mutations, etc. I know that mutated cubs can pop up as a Hard quest randomly, but I'd prefer if I could select it.

Breed only traits have become pretty popular, so a way to clear out some of them would be great.

^^^ I could get behind less! My thought is just anything more then 1 a day just to help with the sheer amount of cubs that are being bred in a day. But, it comes down to more cubs need to be going somewhere. I mean, yeah, it's going to suck for people like you and I who do so few in a week. (I barely do three a month. The things in the shop I will never see unless I pay ungodly amounts of GB for.) But no matter what, something in the shop or the rewards would have to change just to account for the jump in rewards people are getting with increased quests.

There's going to be no easy way out of this, unfortunately. As far as I can see anyway. Maybe adjusting the criteria would be enough, but then you would just have people breeding more for those marks as well so you get put back into the spot we're in now with entirely too many cubs.

OR!! It just occurred to me as I was typing this, trying to figure out a way around your situation. And as a way to keep both sides happy. (Keeping the shop balanced and keeping users like yourself who don't do a whole bunch of Enclave grinding happy) A few additional quests that include turning in a few cubs at a time. It sounds like a lot of new code though for that. But it would at least be a good middle ground between "everything in the shop costs more and I don't have that time" and "there's still not enough cubs going to the Enclave".

Ngl you lost me in the beginning but I am glad I read it all. I support. Although I do agree that numbers need to be adjusted if we go from 1 to 10 gorilla quests. Maybe have the money teeth amount drop so you could get between 10-25 a day rather then 70ish if doing difficult. Of course I also agree that the item prizes should be adjusted too. With almost 500k members and almost 3mil cubs bred, things are getting ridiculous. I would love a karma neutral way of deleting cubs to better clean up the place. There is so many things implemented to try and keep the servers from crashing. I am sure that the giving tree is not helping with anything with about 7,000-8,000 cubs there right now.

Please Lioden, help us find ways to help with overcrowding!
