Everyone's noticed in the past few weeks that GB sales has been infested by users seemingly flexing their GB. This is because GB sales orders the listings by price, rather than by number, so any ridiculous number of GB will go right to the top of the list regardless of the intention behind it, just due to the cheap conversion they have. At one point, it was so bad, that the top seven listings were people "flexing" gb, ranging from just 100-30,000GB, with the highest now being at 34,000GB. It's increasingly obvious that trades like in GB sales these are for the sole purpose of the users who put them up to go "look how much GB I have!", as these are not feasible trades. No one user has millions of SB laying around, and those that do have a ton of expendable SB don't tend to have more than 50,000 on hand at any given time. There are a few fixes that can be done to GB Sales **in Oasis** to prevent this, which are as follows: 1. Ban large bulk trades. I'll leave it up to the staff to decide what they actually do, but I would recommend anything above 100 as being considered a 'large' bulk trade and being banned. 2. Adjust GB Sales to show bulk trades at the bottom. List the sales by Number of GB and then order by price within that. For example, all trades with 1GB would come before any trade with 2GB, even if a 2GB trade has a cheaper per GB price. This keeps singular GB trades up top, which are by far the most popular. It can also be done by sorting by total list price, which does the same thing but may allow ultra cheap bulk trades to go above market-price bulk trades. It's a bit obnoxious knowing these trades push the actual trades a bit lower, and it's especially noticeable on mobile, when these large trades can push actual good faith trades down even more. Nobody does these trades with the intention of just showing what they have, they want to be the center of attention or to knock someone else down a few pegs. While this definitely isn't an issue that's killing the site, and is relatively minor, I think it would just be a nice trend after all the recent QoL updates to help out GB Sales a bit. Let me know if you no support, and the reason why! It'll help me make my suggestions better in the future. Some nice points from the comments as well: Mad Hyena - "Support, it is reasonable - trades have a limit of 100 individual items, GB sales should have a limit of 100 GB per a single listing. If a person wants to sell more, they can always create several 100 GB listings..." ShakiraFuego - "...To your point for #2, instead of a sort within a sort they could also sort just by "Total List Price" instead of "Price per GB" that should by default bring the larger quantities further down. But I am fine with amount of GB too, then sorting by price, it just seems like an extra step." |

Although I find it annoying, I think it would be unfair to ban bulk trades. I think #2 could work but ultimately I see it as unnecessary. It is obnoxious but ignorable. edit: I would support a bulk GB limit within the oasis as bulk over 100 could be done in TC. 2 players like this post! Like? Can we please do this as soon as possible Edit: I see no reason a bulk trade over 100 would be unfair to ban- at 700, that's 70k SB. There's no reason that should be allowed because nobody has that. It should literally be considered chat spam. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 18/07/23 @ 09:03:28 by π» the serval spots (#98320) |

Yeah, I was hesitant on adding it but I do think the majority of bulk trades on GB sales are in the 5-10 category, very rarely do they actually go up to 25gb or even 30 more. It wouldn't be banned entirely, either, just be banned via GB Sales. They would still be free to post their trades on TC if they actually want to trade for that much GB. 0 players like this post! Support, it is reasonable - trades have a limit of 100 individual items, GB sales should have a limit of 100 GB per a single listing. If a person wants to sell more, they can always create several 100 GB listings, just like people with lots of items to sell create several trades of 100 items each. 2 players like this post! Like? While im neutral on the first point, #2 would be much more helpful especially with the trend of heavy-bulk GB sales costing a much lower amount of sb than what gb sales prices normally fluctuate with. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

ALSO limit of GB per listing would be a helpful anti-accident measure. Imagine putting 1000 GB for sale and then mispricing it, and the listing getting priced at something like 9 SB per GB. 2 players like this post! Like? |

Please please please. I don't care how they do it, I don't go to GB Sales to see flexing. I just need a quick conversion. To your point for #2, instead of a sort within a sort they could also sort just by "Total List Price" instead of "Price per GB" that should by default bring the larger quantities further down. But I am fine with amount of GB too, then sorting by price, it just seems like an extra step. 2 players like this post! Like? |

For #2, perhaps have the same mechanics as we do in trades? Hiding listings, a button Hide before the listing line. The hidden listings would then be moved to the bottom of the page/not shown, and the actual prices on GB will be easily visible. 2 players like this post! Like? |

100% support, its annoying as hell- ESPECIALLY considering the fact that those flexing intentionally set their prices low to put them up on top. if for any reason someone was looking to buy over 100gb using sb, a few extra clicks to buy in increments of 100 wouldnt hurt. (or they could just use priv trades and set a buyout Β―\_(γ)_/Β― 3 players like this post! Like? |

I would suggest having the ability (either by default OR as a selectable option when making the listing) to have it able to be sold in any size "chunk" from the full amount. Like if someone lists 200 GB for 900 SB each, buyers can select UP TO 200 GB to purchase, but you could also select 26 GB or 5 GB or anything from that total. This would make it easier on both sides, and it'd clear up the pages as well. No more need to scroll through 60 1 GB listings from the same player, and sellers wouldn't have to copy and paste the same SB price over and over again. Like, if I wanna sell 50 GB I'm forced to sell it individually or in smaller increments, but it'd be way easier to just make the one listing and let people pick at it. The only issue I could see is if bits of the total get bought at the same time and the system can't fulfill the full amount requested (if someone were to buy a full pack of 100 GB, but between refreshes someone else buys 10 - there's only 90 left for the other player). If it could be coded in a way that allows the maximum remaining to go to the person trying to buy the whole lot, I think that problem would be fixed. 4 players like this post! Like? |

yea I find the pissing contest this month to be rather annoying as well. I fully support a limit on bulk trades (max 100 maybe 200?) and totally agree with those trades being at the bottom or maybe even having there own separate tab? like GB bulk trades? not sure on the coding aspect of it but worth a shot to throw it out there. I am primarily mobile and having to scroll down because a select few wanna have a pissing contest is most definitely annoying 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Support. It's lowkey kinda annoying. I don't go to the GB sales page to see people showing off; I go there to buy GB or to reference how much one is selling for currently. Who has millions of SB laying around to actually BUY those?? Not to mention, I feel like the two users currently doing it "inspired" other people to flex too. The other day I saw 5+ people listing 300+ GB for millions of SB, and it just clogs up the page and pushes down listings I'm actually interested in purchasing (or when I need to reference the current price of GB for whatever reason). I mean, good for y'all for having 30,000+ GB (I'm not being salty that they're rich at all), but it's seriously irritating. Edit: if you block said users they no longer pop up in the GB sales Using that as a temporary solution. I personally refuse to entertain anyone who annoyingly flexes like that. 3 players like this post! Like? Edited on 19/07/23 @ 01:06:37 by Casey (Main) (#52546) |

While I support this, I think an alternative solution could be the option to buy x amount of from the listed amount. User A lists 100 @ 900. User B buys 5. User C buys 7. Etc., etc, until User A delists the rest or they sell out. (Edit: Pretty much what Bandit Gambit said. :,D) 4 players like this post! Like?
