If I really wanted to make a lioness pass that damn dorsal fur, would a lion scrotum be possible to use? Would it up my chances to use a ochre saltlick to force crested mane? I'm very aware that this isn't really practical cost-wise, but please humor my question LOL 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I definently recommend using lion scrotum on dorsal furs! It's how I got 3 dorsal furs in 1 litter a few months ago :D 1 player likes this post! Like? |

To my understanding, crested mane doesn't improve the chances of a Dorsal Fur - the mutation itself overrides any other mane shape if it passes. The item description for Lion Scrotums also doesn't say specifically that it cannot be used on Dorsal Fur, so I think that would work! 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Oh! I was under the impression that it passed so terribly infrequently because it required crested. Does it just have a lower general pass rate than primal and piebalds then? 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Yes, Dorsal Fur's passrates are lower than normal primals and piebalds, its more like Ferus. And cubs having crested mane does not improve the chances of a dorsal to pass, I believe its more of the opposite - if a cub rolls to be Dorsal, the script changes their mane to match. So definitely do not waste a Saltlick on that breeding! 1 player likes this post! Like? |
