Anyone else have hundreds of water herbs stashed in their hoard? They're kind of... useless. Outside of crafting, their only use is reducing thirst during August. As stated in the event information for August: You will also notice a thirst bar on your side panel. 100% thirst means that you are extremely thirsty and need to find a source of water. You can do so by using thirst-quenching items or getting lucky in Explore. Your thirst will drop by 5% every 30 minutes. 0% thirst means you're good to go! What, exactly, does thirst affect? If you're too thirsty, you won't be able to battle any NPCs. Oh no, I won't be able to battle! But wait... battles suck this month so who really cares LOL 5% every 30 minutes is so slow as well. From 0% thirst it will take 10 hours of inactivity to get back to up 100%, and the battle-blocking drawback of thirst is ONLY in effect at exactly 100% - so even at 99% thirst you can still battle. Players who explore every 2 hours (about the length of time required to get nearly full energy) will prpbably never even have 100% thirst except for when they wake up for the day due to the vast amount of thirst-quenching encounters in explore. Some of them take away 10% thirst while others even fully reduce your thirst to 0%. Uh, anyway. My point is that thirst is pretty close to irrelevant, so we might as well have something else to do with the herbs! There are decor items as well as applicators available for most of them. However, unlike the rest of them (African Cucumber, Aloe Leaf, Stripped Cacti) Water Root does not currently craft any applicators. So not as valuable as the other three. But I feel that, instead of an app, Water Root would be neat to craft into Energy Boosts. 1. They are both roots! 2. They look similar! > > 3. A craftable energy item that isn't MARBLE MUSH would be cool to see. I don't know what a recipe would look like. I'd like it to be attainable to craft one during the month where you get a decent amount *COUGH* unlike marble mush *COUGH* so 50 Water Roots sounds good to me. 100 could also be fair. I guess it would depend on how many people tend to get on average. Would love to hear some thoughts! Addition 8/4/24: A new craftable energy item that incorporates all thirst herbs in the recipe? ---------------- My other suggestions: Masterpost here |

I'm unsure what an appropriate amount should be, but I definitely support! I don't think it would hurt too muchโjust a 2gb oasis item when similarly priced items are already available outside the Oasis. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

no support, the point of the energy boost being in the oasis is the fact that it's a premium item and would ruin the point of a premium shop 1 player likes this post! Like? |

How does it ruin the point of a premium shop? I don't think most people are getting enough water roots to theoretically craft more than one or two energy boosts during August. I also feel that it's healthy for a game to have a couple "premium" items able to be gained by any player, not just people who can pay for them. We get RMAs for free for rolling over 29 days in a row - should they replace that with some other item that ISN'T in the Oasis, to make sure it doesn't ruin the premium aspect? 2 players like this post! Im personally on the fence. Not really sure how good/bad this would be. My only issue is that water roots are quite easy to get, which means super easy energy. Even just 100 water roots for 1 energy boost is quite easy to get. So for me it will strongly depend on how many it takes to craft it and other possible limitations. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Still, support, Tereintha said it better than me on the energy root being a premium shop item. 0 players like this post! Like? |

It still isn't meant to be easy to get. I think this has potential, but it shouldn't be easy. I would personally say maybe 200 water roots to make 1 energy boost at minimum. 0 players like this post! Like? |

IBFs can be found in explore, so there's precedent for things in Oasis being available elsewhere. It would need to be a nice number of water roots I think. I have 168 in my hoard right now for number reference. 100-200 sounds fair to craft imo. 2 players like this post! Like? |

@Terrinthia there's an uncommon pollution encounter with a bunch of storks on a pile of trash that can be found in any biome- if you choose Pounce you have a very low chance of getting an IBF. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I'm seriously on the fence about this as a avid energy boost buyer. Lol. If this was coded into the game ,and made a crafting item tied to a event, between events folks can stock up. 0 players like this post! Like? |

After some thought, maybe a craftable energy item with x amount of every thirst herb would be cool/better? So that the other herbs (that I also have a ton of ) aren't left in the dust lol. I'm leaning towards making it an item that gives 80% energy, craftable with maybe 40x of each: aloe, african cucumber, cacti, and water root (thank you Lunar!) Worth making it its own suggestion post? 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 04/08/24 @ 09:51:55 by Terrinthia [G1] (#97101) |
