Now that I've completed 2 breeding projects and have more in the works, I thought I should make a thread to document them publicly!

Overview

-> My projects tend to be pretty simple: focusing on a breed-only special base, breed-only eyes, and a goal of up to 3 specific markings (though more than that is a welcome surprise!)
-> I usually try to be flexible by designating a range or "pool" of traits which I'd be happy with, in order to make things easier for myself compared to insisting on a more rigid set which would narrow my options.
-> On my main account I'm especially fond of working with July-exclusive bases such as Skyward and Sunrise, which are never used on weekly raffle lionesses, to add the challenge of creating a unique and pleasant look from scratch instead of relying on preexisting RLCs/NRLCs/descendants.
-> I'd like to give a shout-out to studs that have breed-only special bases and 0 to 5 markings, really useful whenever I'm working on a project and need my markings passed! (I've debated forming a clan for fellow appreciators of "low-marking studs" but I think I'm not cut out for running a big group like that... But I appreciate you all the same!)

Sunrise Project

Status: completed!
Base: Sunrise
Specific markings: slot 8 Bone Soft Unders, slot 9 Coral Soft Unders
"Pooled" markings: Red Margay, Red Dorsal Line, Red Panther, Cinnabar Margay, Cinnabar Coat, Cinnabar Marozi, Leg/Tail Banding Cinnabar
Eyes: Maroon, Rose, or Apricot
Skin: Peach, Pale, or Clouded
Mane: Orchid or Fiery; Royal preferred
Kinged steps: Maid Marian, Ghrian, kept Ghrian's appearance in subsequent kings x2, then completion
Outcome: Daybreak was born on 1 July 2022, a very fitting date! Then, in another surprise RNG blessing, Rubus Spectabilis was born on 28 April 2023, from a Daybreak-clone king and an ordinary NCL!

Skyward Project

Status: in progress
Base: Skyward
Specific markings: Bone Soft Unders, Celestial Speckles, Clay Lahore Plumage*
(*can be applied through piety in November, so will not be an active part of the breeding efforts for now, but I really want it to be part of the final design regardless)
"Pooled" markings: Bone or White Underfelt/Rims/Inverted Cover/etc, Lilac Freckles 1/2/3, Leg/Tail Banding Lilac, any Feline or Dim in a suitable color, any raffle Vitiligo, Clay Sable, ???
Eyes: Sunglow (preferable for kinged steps to save on salts) or Iris
Skin: ???
Mane: ???
Kinged steps: Lover of the Light
Outcome: TBD

Sahara "Mini-Project"

Status: completed!
Base: Sahara
Specific markings: slot 8 Goridhe Margay
"Pooled" markings: N/A
Eyes: Hetero Denim & Jade or Celadon preferred
Skin: N/A
Mane: N/A
Kinged steps: Holland Road, then used outside studs for his descendants since I had other king plans lol
Outcome: Crackerjack was born on 13 May 2023! In an incredible RNG blessing, she gave birth to Dust Bowl Dance on 9 June of the same year, despite it being her first heat and a 1-cub litter!
