Dwarf Breeding - The best way to loose GB. ![]() *My King as a dwarf :3* I feel it's increadibly important for me to address this issue: Dwarf Breeding. It's no exaggeration to say that it might be the most inefficient way to utilize your GB. Lets dive right into it: The cost Dynamics of Dwarf Breeding are not Ideal. While thinking about wanting to get into dwarf breeding, it came to my attention that the Cost of the essential Breeding Items exceed the actual value of the dwarfes themselves. To make this post simpler here's a breakdown of the necessary items and their current prices: Category 1: Essencial - No exeptions, you cannot breed dwarfes without them. Lion Scrotum: This item grants you a 25% chance per cub to be a dwarf; without it, your chances drop to 0%. -Current Minimum Price: 27 GB Category 2: Highly Recommended - Hard to Ignore Buffalo Scrotum: While not an absolute necessity, this item ensures you receive a minimum of 3 cubs per litter. -Current Minimum Price: 25 GB Grain of Paradise: While not an absolute necessity, this item ensures you receive a minimum of 2 cubs per litter. -Current Minimum Price: 8 GB Category 3: Not Mandatory, but Potentially Beneficial Rock Salt: Allows cubs to inherit the skin color of the chosen parent. Cheapest Price: 200 SB in the Monkey business Opal Saltlick: Lets cubs inherit the eye color of the chosen parent. Cheapest Price: 500 SB in the Monkey business Ochre Saltlick: Permits cubs to inherit the mane shape and color of the chosen parent. Cheapest Price: Currently available at a reduced price during this month's event, but usually worth multiple GB. Ochre Gnawrock: Enables cubs to inherit one marking from a chosen parent. Cheapest Price: Currently available at a reduced price during this month's event, but usually worth multiple dozen GB. Total Costs: Minimum 27 GB, Recommended 52 GB Now the Problem here is: The average price for a Dwarf is around 25 GB. Yes, you read that right, a Dwarf often costs less than the Lion Scrotum alone. Can you see the issue here? Breeding Dwarves can result in a significant loss of GB, and this doesn't even account for the possibility of breeding failures, which could mean losing at least 27 GB. How do we fix this? I dont know. All I can do is to bring attention to this Subject. But with the current Situation instead of Buying a dwarf save your GB for a Hybrid, DU or a RLC if you want to make GB. ![]() Edited on 20/06/24 @ 01:17:50 by LOLpy [G1 |7.9.21 NRLC] (#386310) |

The market for dwarves has been down for the past few months, before that there was barely any dwarves under 50GB. With February, people got a hold onto a lot of breeding items to breed a bunch of dwarves and fill up the market with them! Since there was so many, their price obviously dropped as well We can't really do much about it, but considering not many people still breed beans for this exact reason, there should be less and less dwarves and the market might go back to how it was eventually! ![]() |

I really hope it goes up! However I must say since I have started I havent actually seen a "normal" Dwarf for over 30 GB sadly. Also its been 6 months since february wouldnt you think it should be back up by now? To atleast 30-35 GB atleast? Because I also put special Base and BO heavy dwarfes into my average. If I exclude them the everage would probably be more at 22 ish GB. ![]() |

Dwarves are awfully hard to sell now, I stopped breeding mine as well since it just really wasn't worth it anymore. The gen/clean lineage has something to do about it for sure, I doubt dirty dwarves have been selling at all, I know personally at such a low cost I'd aim for a very short gen dwarf if I was to start breeding them again, so that's also a factor to it! I think it'll take quite a while for the market to go back up, the issue is that ''everybody'' (take this with a grain of salt) have a dwarf now. There's literally 11 pages filled with dwarves in TC, so 250+ for sale basically, and most of them are priced low. Unless all those pricing magically disappear, their worth won't go up, especially since most of those are up for only 20GB-ish! ![]() |

It's also important to note that sometimes values just.... go down. Dwarfs aren't shiny and new anymore. Lots of people have them now, and with 25% per cub to pass with a lion scrotum, they're a ton easier to breed than hybrids. They're probably getting to a similar class as other random mutations—just not... worth breeding with lion scrotums really. Like Lunaire says, there's a huge supply and not enough demand. The lion market is in shambles as a whole right now; lions really aren't selling at all. This might improve in November with Black Friday when there's a huge influx of GB, but it also might not. I see people upset about dwarfs, but they've been like this for years now, since before I started playing in 2020. They've never been worth the cost to breed in my experience, except in spring or with a very low gen high BO dwarf. This is just the norm now and has been for a few years, sadly. ![]() |

I can say that most muties I had have the same problem, I had a Dwarf and a DU, even with a lot of breeding item, there's no guarantee that something of value will come from a heat, for DU you have to spend a lot of GB to buy her and even more GB to breed her, when I had mine I spent an insane amount of GB on items to breed her with the greatest possibility of mutations and even this way she never gave birth to an DU and never even paid herself with the cubs, later I putted her in raffle to try to recover at least the amount I spent on her, and during all her heats, she still didn't produce a DU. Is worse with Dwarf because their demand is low right now, the only reason I still breeding my Dwarf right now is because I want the achievement of having a Dwarf born in my territory, but if it were to make a profit on it? No way, lost of money and time. ![]() |

Agreed, it's actually depressing. I own four dwarves, and I love them to bits and want to breed them so bad, but I just can't afford it. It's bad enough trying to make the funds to breed em, but I can't even break even. So I had to end every single breeding project I had with em, and freeze em. I'm just hoping the market grows a bit more even at some point :( I wanna go back to being able to afford my high-maintenance babies. Honestly, if nothing else, it may be worth it again if they just make em a natural pass. At least then, you might manage to break even when selling. ![]() Edited on 16/09/23 @ 07:35:22 by Jenova :|: 3.1kstMRCinnaPrimal (#164933) |
