IMO, There are not enough money sinks in this game as is. Frozen lions sticking around weighs down the economy.

Agreed, I want a frozen collection of every Mutation and raffle lioness and that's gonna cost me a small fortune with things as they are now. Idk why it cost so much to house a lion that's basically just cosmetic and doesn't benefit the pride at all.

How does it weigh them down? generally, unless it's a lethal, tigon/leopon, or an extreeemeeelyyy rare lion, it won't bog down anything in the economy. Like right now, I have a felis frozen just cause she's pretty and my first mutie. YK? I'm sure people would love to be able to freeze their prettier lions, and wouldn't really sell/delete them if they could keep em.

Because you have to think about the people who will not use it in that way. For every person who saves a few pretty lions, there will be someone churning out frozen gons, pons, and lethals to saturate the market.

I have a crazy lore-based pride, I think it should be lowered down tbh. Yes, it's understandable why it's expensive but I'm on my 5th slot and already hitting 20GB, for a frozen slot.
Should the slots still be pricey? Yeah, I feel like for my 5 slot it should be 10GB. Kinda like territory. until you hit 100 territory it's no longer 2Gb but higher, I think frozen slots should work like that.
frozen slots 1-10 10GB per slot then 11-20 maybe 20GB per slot and so on.

Now this is just a rough idea of what I think it should be, but I agree it should definitely be lowered down X)

Honestly yeah! The first frozen slot is free, and then it's 5gb. Maybe free, 5gb, 7gb, and then 10 until you hit 10 slots, and then 20per slot after till you hit like 30 or 40 or something. It's crazy how by 20 slots, you're paying 100gb+ per slot.

They can't breed.
The value of non-frozen (alive) hybrids would not be affected by frozen ones.

For lethals? Sure, maybe. But at the same time most of those are frozen to either sell/keep anyways... I don't see their value changing much.
If frozen prices decreased, heck lethal prices might even increase.

I think the effects of this wouldn't hurt the already struggling market too much

Pride Dynasty is the 'less expensive' option to keep pretty lions around?

They're not in your pride so to speak, but they're there? They exist, on-site, we pay for the 'storage' & it's less expensive than Frozen slots, for sure.


Idle curiosity as I haven't voted, but is there any reason folks prefer Frozen slots (Lion appears in pride) vs. Pride Dynasty?
Is it to keep them around/lore?
Or Out of Sight, Out of Mind?

I don’t answer for everyone, but for me personally, it’s to have them on display. I prefer to keep them IN my pride, in my caves, among my other lions. Especially when I have them for lore purposes. The dynasty, to me, feels like shoving them aside to eventually forget about their existence. Hell, I often forget that the dynasty exists in the first place, but when they’re frozen I can actively admire them. Maybe it’s just because of the attachments I form with my png lions
When I store them in the dynasty, they’re dead and basically just left rotting. But when I freeze them, they’re a part of my pride and its lore forever and I much prefer that.
(No clue if that makes any sense but that’s my take on it)

Frozen slots cost so much because they are entirely a luxury. They serve no purpose other than being able to show off a lion for an indefinite amount of time, essentially- they're not at all necessary for gameplay.
Probably the largest part of why slots cost this much in the first place is that the lions still take up server space- every mutation and RL in the game would be hundreds of frozen lions that serve no gameplay purpose and just sit taking up server space for a potentially infinite length of time. It's also why territory slots and dynasty slots have an associated cost as well, and why broodmothers were implemented to cut down on the amount of cubs people could feasibly keep in their prides at once.

I'm torn on this.

I agree a lot with heartbroken. Frozen slots are a luxury, and they should be. If they were suddenly a lot cheaper, that's a huge extra strain on the server, potentially for as long as Lioden runs. That's rough. We don't want that.

However I do also think that the prices get completely ridiculous, and lowering them isn't a terrible idea on its own as long as it is still expensive.

And I know it was said to not mention the people who have already paid for frozen slots... but I think it IS fair to consider the players who have spent so much GB on frozen slots already. It doesn't matter if it was their choice—it was! In context where the frozen slots were always gonna be that grossly expensive. But we're talking potentially hundreds of GB if slots get lowered.

Either way, I'm not sure they will. It's been like this for as long as I can remember. But I'm not opposed to a different price system, as long as it IS still expensive.

As much as Heartbroken's response makes sense....
There really isn't much difference on serverload between a frozen slot and a hierarchy slot, yet hierarchy slots are so much cheaper. You can still decorate a lion, rename them, view their cubs and their history...regardless of if they're frozen in time or dead. So why does it cost only a pawful of sb for a hierarchy slot, and hundreds of times more for a frozen slot that is almost identical minus the fact that the lion is now tradeable and visible with your pride.

i agree! I think that they should jsut be 5GB each or something for a lot longer then they are since they are SO expensive and I have to argue with myself to get more.

Another suggestion would be to have a system to keep frozen lions that cant be traded? that might be a cool feature
