Knem is the former king, made of the forest itself, and he stands before you. Its body sculpted from the thick branches of ancient trees, its eyes are fashioned from the deepest, most vibrant shades of green. And yet, despite the formidable appearance, there is a sense of warmth and kindness that emanates from it. You feel a sense of awe and reverence as you stand in its presense, marveling at the beauty and majesty that is the forest personified. This king is truly still alive and should be honored and respected.
And just as he was there, standing in front of you in the flesh. He faded away. A memory in the wind. But he wasnt just a memory. He was the forest. The branches, the grass, the sounds of the birds singing. Hes always there. Protecting his land even after his passing.
And some members of the pride look for him in times of need. Searching for his guidance and help. And he listens. He always does.

The Fairy

Atticus looks at his pride. His pride was beautiful and its numbers continued to grow. But something troubled him. No matter how hard he tried- he couldnt get a heir. He had plenty of cubs born everyday- yes- but none of them screamed leader. None of them was fit to be the king.
He wasnt worried about it as first. But even though his childish like manner hasnt aged- his body has. He knows he needs to find a new heir. And quick. So he went to the one person that always listens. Knem.
He approached the large tree that was once in a lion form. The very spirit that raised him. He laid down against the tree, pretending as if Knem could wrap his body against him once more like he did when he was a young cub. Knem was the closest thing he had to a father. He looked up at the massive branches, the beautiful leaves changing to the bright red and oranges of autumn,
"Knem.. I need guidance."
He shuffled his paws before tucking them underneath his fluffy chest. Going into loaf mode,
"Im not sure how to get a heir.. I'll join you eventually- but when I do.. When I do I want to leave my family with someone I know who can protect them."
He sighs before continuing his rant,
"Im scared that if I leave them without a heir something bad will happen. We're a peaceful family but.. Something is going to change. I know it will. I need the jungles help. I-I need your help."
He continued talking to Knem until he passed out. But when he opened his eyes he wasnt sure if he was dreaming or not. The world around him was full of bright colors and everything seemed to sparkle. It was nice here. All of Atticus's worries seemed to fade away.
Then a golden figure started to walk.. no float.. towards him. Atticus watched in awe as the mysertious lioness stepped forward. The sunlight seemed to highlight this lioness no matter if she was in the shadow or not. She was like an angel.
======== Evening
Atticus slowly began to stir. He smiled, remembering the morning before. He turned his head to look at where the golden beauty fell asleep beside him but there was nothing there. He sat up quickly. Completely confused.
======= 3 months later
The lioness was a memory to Atticus. He kept thinking about her. But he hasnt seen her in so long. He went on longer patrols. Constantly searching for her. Hoping he would find her. And one day he did. She was laying on her side in a field of baby marigolds. She looked up at him and mewed. Atticus stepped closer and to his surprise a small little cub laid nestled against her side.
The cub smelled like him and had the beauty of his mother.. but something was off. His fur was the color of the jungle grass and his wings were dark and crinkled. In that moment the jungle seemed to stir. The leaves seemed to dance and the birds sang louder. Flowers around the cub began to grow and blossom. It was as if the jungle had gone mad.. or it was saying something.
Knem.
Atticus smiles and nuzzles the small heir. He looks back at the golden lioness but she was gone.. And he never saw her again.

Aerith pads through the forest, her mind in the trees and her thoughts rustling the trees. Vines clung to her paws and her eyes glowed like petals on the daisy.
"Keoki"
She spoke loudly, commanding the grass and branches,
"Keoki listen to me. I need your help."
Her fur swayed in the wind,
"I've never asked for help but this is important. The forest is dying. I know you can feel it. Elowen is our last hope. I need a lion to guide him once he leaves."
The wind started to move, large sugar cane roots reaching from the oceans and sprouting out of the ground, forming its long leaves and folding like origami into a lion. then it fell from the roots, the wind gently placing it in front of Aerith.
Aerith growled, this was not what she meant. She leaned down and nudged the leaf and it moved, its eyes opening and fur covering its petals. It sputtered and gasped before rolling over and going to sleep.
Aerith jumped back, her fur standing on edge. She couldnt believe it.
A tigon cub. Born of a single sugar cane leaf. Born of the forest and blood salted like the fresh ocean. A breathing- living piece of their jungle.
Aerith raised this cub even though it didnt seem to age.
And when the time comes he'll teach all of Elowens cubs and their cubs about the jungle. Keeping its legacies alive.
