Perhaps a thread Katze can use like the current RL suggestion thread on which RL's to bring back? Like being able to suggest "January 4th, 2019 Ruffian RL please?"
Or even having a poll system for players to maybe vote on which RL to bring back in the month?

Ohh yes o: I like that a lot. I feel like an admin run poll would be easier to handle rather than players requesting RLs themselves? Based on my experience with people being unable or unwilling to play by the rulebook in terms of what is required, There's no doubt in my mind we would get requests for non-dead RL lines more often than actually dead ones .-. With a poll system, it's just a simple 'pick A, B, C, or D'.

That's what I'm thinking, or flooding their suggestions, but at least with a suggestion thread, can gauge general consensus and leave it up to the admins to create a pool for players to vote on to even the playing field and give certain RL's a chance to live among the community

While I do like the idea, I'm not sure if it should be applied retroactively? Maybe for Raffle Lionesses going forward, I would like it, but as of late a lot of people have made RL revival their projects, and have put hundreds of gb into it. To have their project suddenly 'revived' and be at risk of being totally invalidated would likely be incredibly upsetting to these users, or those users who *have* successfully completed an RL revival and found out just how close it could have been to their work being meaningless. And there's no way to fully guarantee no one is working on reviving an RL, because for every one person who participates in breeding projects and is involved on off-site communities to communicate, there's five who only talk on Lioden, and then 10 who aren't active in on-site community spaces, so there would be no way to accurately gauge that. Especially since Abbey has said in the past we have about 40,000 weekly active users, yet the poll with the highest turn out (in March 2023, the merch poll) only has about 10,000 votes.
I'm also on the fence because there are a few lines where the RL itself is dead/on a suspended account/there are no surviving female clones, but there are kinged clones, and unless kings are counted in the total living lions, these kings would also risk their stud becoming eclipsed by someone who got lucky with the revival program and decided to undercut their stud prices/mass sell clones, making their king go from one of a kind to one of about twenty.

I totally get where you're coming from, and it's a very valid point. I do however feel like we can easily bring back several sought after RL lines without stepping on anybody's toes in regards to their projects. I'm fairly involved in the RL community, and I only know of a handful of lines that have been brought back - and most of those have been from years ago when there were less BO-heavy RLs in circulation. I think it's safe to assume that most near-clones that are alive and on active accounts as of today have been bred from clone to kinged clone. That's not to say there aren't any that have been revived at all, and please don't think I'm trying to undermine or undervalue anyone's efforts here - the whole point of this topic (and suggestion) is to give RL's that never went beyond the one original (because she landed on a banned/inactive account) or has completely died out (meaning there are no kinged clones either) a chance to actually reach the player base. There are so many good designs that just disappeared, and I would love to see them flourish ;_;

Yeah, I totally get that! I just know that for every person who is in the RL community open about their project goals, there's probably a few more who don't share their project openly, either for fear of someone trying to finish it before they do, or just because they don't interact with the community much, if at all. I would really like seeing some old RLs come back, especially girls that have been inactive for years (like that 2020 Hellebore I love rip), but I'm just kind of wary about stepping on toes because I know there's so many people who have projects but they're just not as active in off-site communities, or even on-site, sharing their goals.

I forgot to mention earlier, I do definitely support the idea, just wary about previous girls being up for it.

RLs won by permabanned or closed accounts should be rebirthed 100%. It's not fair to everyone else that the lioness's looks are lost forever because of that.

i agree to jester to a point
as someone striving to bring back a long gone RL clone, having to go in manually to gather lions with only one or two traits i needed and breed for months and work with others to bring back said trats or wait months for the peity to open up, i dont think bringing then back in full swing is a good idea, however as a comprimise i think putting those RL markings on long dead lines in a place people can work for them like NCL, peity, groupies, or the maneater studs would be a great way to give hope of bringing a long dead line back without stepping on toes.

Any near clones alive of the line i am working on currently were bred from scratch from either myself or a friend of mine, the only living clone is on an inactive account that announced its leave. I've been playing lioden for years and this revival for a RL has been smth thats kinda refueled my passion for the game this year. it would be heartbreaking it they just up and brought back a line i was working on or was looking to work on after i finish the current one!
