I'd like to propose a constructive suggestion to enhance the gaming experience for both our dedicated player base and the hardworking moderators who ensure its smooth operation. Recognizing the invaluable contributions of our underpaid moderators, I believe it's time to consider a compensation system that includes in-game items as part of their rewards. It is crucial to recognize the invaluable contributions of the underpaid moderators in the online community of Lioden. These dedicated individuals play an important role in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for the game's 3000+ daily players. Considering the demanding nature of their responsibilities, compensating them solely with the "Feed all, Play all" tool, equivalent to €2.50 a month, hardly reflects their commitment. Instead of money, I propose moderators have the option to receive in-game items; A way for them to get paid for their effort, and wouldn't cost the game in general any funds. Issuing in-game items as part of their compensation package would not only acknowledge their hard work but also motivate them to continue their efforts. This would not only improve their overall experience but also contribute to the sustained success and growth of the game itself, creating a win-win situation for both moderators and players alike. Q: Wouldn't people sign up JUST for these items? A: The offer of in-game items can be viewed as a way to complement their dedication rather than being the sole attraction. By providing these items as part of their compensation, it can serve as an additional token of appreciation, motivating moderators to continue their valuable work while simultaneously rewarding their ongoing commitment. Careful screening and selection processes can still ensure that individuals with genuine dedication are chosen for moderation roles, mitigating the risk of attracting those solely interested in the rewards. Q: Most items have set values by the community, how can we ensure they get equal pay to their efforts? A: This is something I've been thinking about myself, and the rewards could always just be non-transferable for example; Territory slots . Because, let's be frank, they're unnecessarily expensive after the 40th free slot which players easily view as P2W (pay to win). Q: But Eden!!! Items!!! Economy!!! A: Which do you prioritize. Safety among Lioden players, or your profit? Q: Doesn't this seem unfair to the players? A: For a chat that is active 24 hours of the day, blogs that are active, and a daily influx of modbox tickets, it is quite alot of work. Also for a fact that the mods need to know all the rules, and this can be seem as extremely pressuring if someone also has ex. school, work, hobbies. Ofcourse, it is voluntary, but it's something to take into account. Proposals/Examples/OtherOther things that could be given in exchange for the mod's hard work: — Energy boosts (Much like the free daily one, just not an item), or in general just faster energy generation. — Faster hunting/patrolling. — Auto leveling, cub stages These are all examples that are not tradeable. DISCLAIMER: THIS IS UP FOR DEBATE: JUST NOT THINGS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED THOROUGHLY IN THE POST. Again something I'd like to mention: if someone was doing it only to profit from the mod perks, it'd be clear from the screening/application process. You still have a duty as mod to moderate, you can't just sign up and run away with the rewards. |

I have to no-support this, because someone could mod with all the best intentions in the world and then be corrupted by the perks that come with it, I am speaking from knowing a now-banned mod (who I will not name) who fell prey to the existing bonuses, it would have happened much faster if they'd have had what you're describing. 1 player likes this post! While it's regrettable to hear about past instances where a moderator may have been influenced negatively by perks, it's essential to view such cases as exceptions rather than the rule. Most moderators take on their roles with genuine intentions to help and support the community. Offering in-game items as compensation doesn't inherently corrupt individuals; rather, it serves as a form of recognition for their hard work and dedication. The key here is to have a well-structured compensation system and strict guidelines in place, which include monitoring and accountability measures to prevent abuse. By carefully selecting and training moderators and maintaining transparency in how these perks are awarded, we can create an environment where the majority of moderators continue to serve with integrity while enjoying fair rewards for their contributions. It's important to remember that such instances can occur in any profession. In most workplaces, employees are offered various benefits and bonuses as part of their compensation package. These incentives are not meant to corrupt individuals. The critical factor in ensuring the ethical conduct of employees is having a strong corporate culture and a robust system of checks and balances. Just as with moderators, the majority of employees take on their roles with good intentions. By implementing clear guidelines. Edit: The rewards shouldn't tempt mods, it should give them fair compensation. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 10/10/23 @ 11:03:32 by vulturetalon ✡️ g2 nudar rlc (#243408) |

I don't support this, but what I DO support is actually paying the moderators. I'm not even a moderator and have no intention on ever being one without compensation, but it always seemed insane to me that moderators are volunteers. As someone who has been wrongfully given code violations at least 4 times in the past year, just because the moderators weren't trained properly and/or don't know the rules of Lioden very well, I feel like this would happen to players a lot less if moderators were not only trained better, but also not volunteers. They deserve to be paid real money for their work. 3 players like this post! Like? Edited on 08/12/23 @ 04:55:19 by Casey (Main) (#52546) |
