The current layout looks best. The new one is just.. way too much, its look bad, honestly. The current layout is something that is very recognisably lioden’s, and i think if it were necessary to change it, the best change would be to somewhat emulate that of wolvden (????) because this one looks far too generic, far too colourful and there’s just way too much going on in one page.

ew :) it feels too much like a mobile game, and too un compact, i hate all of the rounded edges on it and personally the font is the worst for me, and the icons at the top really dont do it for me. they look too blown up and take the attention away from the actual game mainly because some things just have icons, some have icons and text which really clutters it, choose one or the other

to make it more compact just have appearance and markings be the same tile, same with currents and breeding appearance, but if you are going to keep breeding appearance merge it with nursing cubs, it just makes sense
“find a stud” & “reverse breed” buttons look extremely out of place there and the buttons look too large for the image, it makes it look sloppy and cluttered. id reccomend just shrinking them

sorry that i have little nice to say, i just really dont enjoy how long the page is, esp if your just trying to scroll to chat and your refreshing constantly, just not practical yk?

last gripe i promise, just the fact that.. some rectangles are rounded and some are sharper ?? why ?? it just dosent look good imo

but im glad your trying to improve the game !!! keep at it (and pleaase add dark mode i get eyestrain playing this game as well as typing this rn)

I don't have many complaints, only two. One: the boxes; why are some rounded and some sharp? it looks cleaner if it's all the same. Two: It seems more cluttered than the current layout? I'm not really sure what can be done to fix that though

the new pages are horrible to look at on mobile. the preview lion page has become SO LONG and requires way more scrolling than the current lion page.

I've been on this game pretty much sense it came out and absolutely love the current layout. It's not over complex, it's simple and a breeze to navigate. If Lioden changed so drastically I couldn't see myself continue to play the game anymore. Don't get me wrong it's really nice how everything is laid out but it feels crowded, messy and a lot of things like % for needs are gone making it harder to know when I need to feed my lions ext. A full makeover I feel is unnecessary because the game is great the way it is. Personally it looks like you're trying to make Lioden like Wolvden and if that's the case.....I can't navigate that game if my life depended on it. Very lovely game graphics wise but over crowded and you need to do six actions just to complete one thing. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't change Lioden! I love the game how it is. I want to be able to play this game till I'm Old like 80+ I really do love this game it's helped me a ton and Whatever y'all want to do I will try to stay on here as long as I can till I can't understand a thing. Sending all my love cause y'all do an amazing job keeping up with all us crazy Lioden users!

if possible, I think there should be an option to move the big sidebar on the right to the left - for some reason, it feels very jarring to me in the new layout where it doesn't in the current one. this would probably be useful for general accessibility, too.

I like it overall on desktop! Looks great! However on mobile the pages are incredibly long to scroll through, especially the lioness page.
Additionally the colors on the night theme are currently better as is on the current site than on the preview, I prefer the variants of cool green to the variants of blue when comparing the old lioness page to the new lioness page; I would prefer to keep the current night pallete. Its easier on my eyes. The desert theme looks great though! If the night theme keeps the blue instead of the green, I'll likely switch to that one

While the new layout is quite modern and clean, it's incredibly cluttered. The spacing on the Lion pages is extremely bizzare, there's no easy spot for your eye to land on and it forces the user to look all over the place. The placement of the buttons is very inconvenient and overall there's just too many elements. The simple, blocky design of the current pages makes much more sense and helps streamline the user experiance instead of making it look like a mobile game. Please please reconsider your choices in going forward with something like this.

Overall I like the look, but there’s a lot on one page at it makes the page very long (I use mobile).
The markings list and the settings (name to bio) should be completely collapsible

I think its way too "bubbly" and "childish" it just dosent feel rigth for the current game.
Also its incredibly long to scroll thru on mobile and overall looks kinda messy? It has a lot going on

Heya! Mobile player here.
I play lioden a lot from my phone when I’m not at home, and (specifically judging the lion profile layout) I’d just like to say that although yes, the buttons of the current layout are small, they’re spread far enough apart to prevent any accidental clicking or mistaking one button for another. All of the lion’s info is nice and compact, and although I appreciate the thought of making the text bigger in the new layout, it honestly just really bloats the page and makes you scroll quite a bit, which is much more inconvenient than having smaller text.

Similarly, as a bunch of other players pointed out, the rounded corners seem a bit.. childish? Lioden is a game specifically intended for an older demographic, but the rounded corners and the almost “playful” icons, as well as the big text really reminds me of those browser games for children, who try to appear soft and family-friendly. Lioden, on the other hand has a lot of nsfw and mature themes, which really doesn’t match the layout at all. As a compromise, I’d recommend still having the corners be rounded, but have them be much more subtle instead. And the icons.. I really think they’re a bit unnecessary? All they do is add clutter to the page, and make the buttons much more bulky. They are, again, very reminiscent of a child-friendly site, which lioden is not, and may even give new players the wrong idea when signing up.

One thing, however, that I’d really like to see adjusted is the forums. Not the forums page, but specifically the page when you view one specific forum. The profile area, especially the one from the original post, covers up a huge portion of the screen, and makes the post itself more condensed, which requires more scrolling. It would be great to have that more optimized, but for the rest of the site, I think it’s fairly good as it is. The hunting page requires me to zoom in to make sure I select a hunting party instead of a lion and get redirected to its profile, but again, really not that huge of a deal. I’m really glad you guys are working hard to make the game more accessible, but personally I think that the new layout will cause more inconvenience than it will fix. Just my two cents

Alright, here we go (non native english speaker here, excuse me if some of my writing is weird. I hope everything is somewhat understandable. )

General:
Thank you for keeping the logo of LD as it is. I see it has been edited slightly, and I really prefer the renewed one! The brown Bar on the very top also seems stronger in color, and I like the icons for the Messages, Modbox and Wiki (Den, Crossroads, etc. too!). I've noticed an option to go to the users Profile if klicking on the little person icon. Will this be a separate page like it is on Wolvden? If it is: A really nice addition, even if this seems like another step in the direction of the sister game. But I think quite a few people would love to have different pages for personal stuff and Den/Pride related stuff.
100% text size seems very big, but I'm not used to seeing such a big font on LD, it's a very good idea let users decide what text size they want! I will probably choose 85%.
The themes look nice, just like they are now. I'm overall not a big fan of any dark themes, so I won't comment on that. (But I really like the new background you showed earlier, will the other themes also get their own new background?)

Lion Page:
I like that the Markings have a scrollbar, as well as an expand button. Showing the cub survivals is also very nice! The 'Find a Stud' & 'Reverse Breed' buttons are also a really wonderful addition!
But everything between the Settings & the Box with time and date, etc. looks kinda cluttered. On mobile as well as on PC.
All these buttons are usually not something a user would use on a daily basis and they aren't containing important information about the lion, I would prefer them being hidden under an 'Hide/Show' button (or something similar) like we currently have for the lions biography.
But maybe I'm just missing something and I'm not able to find said button?

Theme Elements:
Not much to say here, the chosen colors for the status displays, etc. look good. The Primary and Warning Colors are looking similar, but after looking at them for a while, they are easily to distinguish. That shouldn't be a problem after playing for a few days.
Also Uhhh, if choosing a Quantity of Items to buy, I can only choose up to 5. We are going to keep the option to buy 10 & 20, right? Right????

Landing Page:
My FAVOURITE part of the recode preview!
This page would speak far more to me than the current one! It's modern, the strong red on top gives a nice, unusual contrast to the rest of the page and the game core mechanics are visible.
The only questionable thing to mention here is, that the image of the lion and the decor might be misleading people (don't get me wrong, I really like it!), since it doesn't mirror the real ingame 'graphics'. New users could get disappointed and not giving the game a chance.
I don't really have a solution or a better Idea for that, but that was just a small thought I had after looking at it for a while.

So, that's it for the recode.

The overall design/looks of the pages requires getting used to, however they look more modern. Lioden is a unique game, and I could live with the current layout til all eternity, but I see this page has aged and a major update is inevitable to blow the virtual dust away.
If most of that gets implemented, many people will probably struggle a little bit in the beginning, but I believe it's easy to getting used to after a while.

One entirely other thing has been going in my head since the recode has been announced. Ignore this if the answer is still top secret, hasn't yet been discussed in the team or is inappropriate for this thread:
What will happen to the crossroads image? Yes, the art is outdated and probably needs an update too (whenever the time and capacity is available, I don't think theres any rush here) But the Crossroads are (for me at least) the heart of lioden. It feels like an actual place in the LD world and I fell in love with this way of showing the table of contents.
Whatever will be planned or is already planned, please don't shatter the image to small tokens. This would feel like I'm not going anywhere anymore if klicking on them.

I’m on mobile but even on a lower font size everything on the lions page is so big! Right now it’s easy to use but with the new layout you have to scroll forever to get to the bottom. It feels big and chunky like a child’s game rather than a platform for a mixed age range. Plus I don’t think that the markings list should be bigger than the lions picture. God I hate it.

To sum it up the new mobile layout is big chunky and overall unpleasant

I just want it to stay the same with minor tweaks rather than a total overhaul. This is new update is giving a style that will quickly be out of style —like fedora energy easily dated as soon as it stops being a trend.

I think the text and text boxes are too big. Would look a lot better if they were smaller.

And honestly, it's too.. like, trying to be modern and different? Like I like the more simple layout we have. And it looks childish.
