There was a mixed reaction, and we've taken that on board. We went back to square one - we'd like to get your feedback on a new design that we've created, heavily inspired by the current layout - just spruced up a bit, and modernized to use more current web technology! Some Notes: * This is not the final iteration of the layout, it's a preview build - there may be minor issues that will be fixed, or things that we rearrange. Please don't worry about bug reporting or making suggestions for repositioning at this point - we're looking for feedback about how the layout as a whole feels to you! * This layout should be fully mobile responsive, including the lion images and their layers * We are about 99% of the way with color contrast accessibility, and the new accent colors (buttons, progress bars [hunger, energy, etc]) should be colorblind friendly. * Alerts can cause a problem due to very similar brightnesses so icons have been added to alerts to counteract any bad interactions with colorblindness. * Layout Preview Settings: At the bottom of the page there are two options for layout settings. * Text can be resized to your preference within a range. The current default text size (90%) is the most similar to Lioden's current text size. 100% will be the new default when this layout launches, but we will automatically set everyone who is a member at the time to 90% so it's less of a harsh adjustment right away. The plan is that when the layout is implemented, this will be a setting on your account that you can change at will. * The site's theme can be changed to the game's existing layout themes (Day/Default, Night and Desert) and there is a new Dark theme. We are still tweaking Dark theme, and it's important to note that Night and Desert are lower contrast themes and may cause accessibility issues. Preview a Lion Page View the Theme Elements Page Bonus: Landing Page (Xylax is unhappy about the age of the art we've used, it will be updated ;D) Please give any and all feedback within this topic! Would the new layout affect the territory URL’s players use? I love how you guys are making everything more accessible! The love and effort the team has put into lioden is so clear. I do agree with some people that the lion page example is a bit busy/a bit much to scroll through while you’re on mobile 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Please don't fix something that's not broken. New elements can be added, like the improved notices when using breeding items or the decor section, but they should fit the existing UI. I think the new layout for lion pages honestly looks more cluttered than the current one. I understand adding features such as the look for studs button but it feels like too much when they're all in a big column on one page. The current one is fine, and if you wanted to add these extra links stucch ass stud finding I feel just adding an extra drop down on the lionesses page would be better 12 players like this post! It looks... squished, there is less "open space". The way I experience it now on my mobile, it has open space that makes it looks neat and tidy. I feel everything has been put below each other where now they are next to each other (Main male bar below, time of day and season, bookmarks, event currency). The new layout looks cramped. Theres just too much going on with the new layout and it looks crowded. The whole breeding item banner thing is honestly the only feature I can see being nice/useful. As for accessibility there should be like a toggle thing or a function in settings to turn it on and off (like with the theme(desert, forest, night, day)) and have only the toggle be accessibly colored(?) all the time and have the current layout/color as default. Or even have the accessible version as default and have the toggle button still there. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I agree a lot with what others have said. I appreciate that Lioden needs a revamp, but I really want the UI to stay as much the same as possible. It's way too much on mobile and everything I care about most is so far down. I prefer the current look where everything is very close together and easy to access without a lot of scrolling. I think some things are cute like the icon on the king bars, but mostly... it's a lot 4 players like this post! Like? |

to be honest i personally really like the current layout. the new concept is more modern looking and all but i honestly dig the older forum vibe of the site as is. id be pretty sad to lose that if there wasnt like a "legacy" theme you could toggle, especially since so many websites now are getting these sort of sanatized corporate feeling redesigns. its kind of nice to have an older looking site to go back to, and i feel like a lot of users would have a difficult time adjusting to such a drastic rehaul anyways where one doesnt really seem to be needed. Also, the new system concepts still definitely seem very cluttered and sort of overwhelming -- stuff like scrolling down to edit lion biographies or view heritage is a lot more convenient with the sites current ui and the conceptual one sort of feels both claustrophobic with the sensory overload aspect and too expansive with the amount of space it has to take up on the screen 10 players like this post! I'm sorry, but I really dislike the new layout. I find it much harder to navigate and straining on the eyes. Not to mention that all of your current players/users are already accustomed to the current layout and I see no reason why you would need to change it, to me it seems pointless and a waste of your time and efforts when you could focus that time and effort instead on more useful attributes, ie, poses for mutations like polycaudal, finishing the male poses that were promised so long ago, and adding in user suggestions that were made. This frankly just seems like an effort to postpone those other things. 5 players like this post! Like? |

I actually like the look of the lion page on pc, it seems fairly simple to understand, most of the things are just shuffled a bit, but nothing that cant be adjusted to, on mobile it seems clunky and not as streamlined since things aren't as naturally lined up, plus I don't know if its just me but there is a large empty space under the lioness picture on mobile which increases the page length, which is already kind of long on mobile Pros/ things that I like - the color contrast between text lines makes it easier to read/separate - lion info areas are cleanly separated, easy to learn/ navigate -by making the markings their own scrollable box it decreases the page length (a con on mobile since it would be possible to get stuck there if its centered on the screen and the only thing you can scroll is the box) - the decorations showing the picture and uses - the achievements showing the number you have unlocked on the side - the ability to change text size - showing the cubs sex and survival bar on the nursing cubs area - being able to have more text in a bookmark - stats gained being add to lioness pages possibly, not just males Cons/ things I don't like - the color contrast seems too bright and jarring (not a big con since the page theme can be changed) - page becomes extra long on mobile - the add marking slot, and reveal fertility seem too far away from their relevant areas -no percentage on hunger or experience bar overall I like the look of it though (on pc) 0 players like this post! While I’m glad that y’all are trying to think about the color blind users, it would be so much better if the alert colors were just…color blind/deficient friendly instead of adding icons to try to counteract it. I’m red-green color deficient and having to deal with colors I don’t see well and having to work around them is so incredibly frustrating. There are so many colors to choose from, there’s no reason to use ones that are so similar to one another. I don’t want to have to squint at tiny icons to tell what others can tell at first glance. 3 players like this post! Like? |

A lot of people have been talking about the lion page being cluttered and I completely agree! I feel like certain things would get missed or overlooked just bc of how far you have to scroll. Certain actions not being with their corresponding content doesn’t make sense to me (why is the reveal fertility at the bottom with the kill/chase/reserve options? why is the add marking slots not with the markings?) The appearance section being blocked out and stacked on top of each other also is just not very aesthetically pleasing to look at. The information is hard to read and look at and again feels like some information could get lost when trying to view a lion. I prefer the old layout in this sense because of how clean and simple it is to be able to look at the appearance box now and have all the information in one section rather than split into three. (sorry I have so many opinions) The pictures for the items used is good in theory but, it could get confusing for new players who do not know the names of the items. I feel like the name rather than the pictures is more practical in that sense. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I’ve been playing for so long and I’m used to the old layout but this just feels like an unnecessary change and does not help the gameplay. It feels like an aesthetic/re-brand change which may off put new players bc it does get confusing :/ Edit: just wanted to throw out there that I do appreciate the need to add color blind friendly characteristics to the page and I actually do agree with those specific changes! 2 players like this post! Personally, I think the new layout seems cluttered and unfinished. You have to - at least on a phone - scroll twice as many times just to get to the bottom of the page, supposedly to view the same amount of information/some version of the same info. On a phone, the new layout has lots of weird gaps that our current layout doesn't have, and all the flashy new buttons gets stacked on top of each other rather than side by side, which I think is a huge drawback. - Feeding, Interacting and Breeding becomes /incredibly/ cluttered on a phone, and is not at all user friendly - Breeding Information should be cut in half and set side by side, like it is today. - Appearance, Markings and Mutation should be more streamlined, and remove the scroll feature on Markings. I much prefer having them all in the same 'window' than having three separate ones. - Equipped Decor item previews should be nerfed, as lots of lions have +20 decors equipped and it would hog the whole page to have them shown as items thumbnails. - Nursing Cubs and Lifetime Hunting Results should be slimmed down to only one or two lines and moved up to be under Breeding Information - and better yet, I like our current 'view all cubs bred' feature rather than showing them listed on the lioness' page like that. - the Settings section looks alright on PC but is /terrible/ on phone; the whole screen gets filled with buttons and it's not user friendly - The contrast color for button on the Night setting is perfect, but Dark and Desert could use some more work because they're an eyesore compared to the other two. In general, I also don't like that the new layout takes up more space on the page (leaving less background on each side) while simultaneously seeming so much more cluttered. 4 players like this post!
