So, we all know June is a drag. There's not much to do, the event crawls at a snail's pace until each story chapter is unlocked, and earning KB is a bit of a bitch. For an event based around Ancient Egypt, it's kind of... well... boring?
What if we could liven it up? After all, what is Egypt most known for after its ancient history? Excavations and archaeology! So, this is an idea that will hopefully be liked by fans of June and people who find it annoying alike. It adds a mechanic known as Excavation to the June event, where once every three to six hours, you can play a mini game (think of the Underground from Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, thanks to moonless for giving me that idea!) to earn Khepri Beetles, Exclusive Decors, and, occasionally, maybe even applicators. I would make a mock up, but since it's based off the Underground from the Pokemon Gen 4 games, I'll just give you a screenshot of that for a general idea!
It would also work like this, where you have either a time limit or hit limit before the area you're Excavating comes crashing down, leaving you only with what you unearthed as well as an amount of Khepri Beetles depending on if you got everything in the area or not. It would have three tools compared to the two in the Pokemon mini game, however, one for a large impact but a large limit loss, one for a medium impact but a medium limit loss, and one for a small impact but a small limit loss. The items would be randomly generated. Below is what I think an appropriate loot table would be:
Loot Table
Small Khepri Cache [A small cache of additional Khepri Beetles! Spend them wisely. Contains 10 Beetles] - 35%
Medium Khepri Cache [A medium cache of additional Khepri Beetles! These'll definitely help you out. Contains 25 Beetles] - 20%
Large Khepri Cache [A large cache of additional Khepri Beetles! You're rich! Contains 50 Beetles] - 15%
Exclusive to Excavation Decor - 12%
Random Decor from any Temple or Shrine - 10%
Random Background from any Temple or Shrine - 5%
Canopic Jellyfish - 2%
Random Applicator from a Temple or Shrine that is not associated with your chosen God - 1%
Obviously, staff are free to edit this as they see fit if this is added. I understand 1% for a random applicator may seem like a lot, but in practice it's fairly rare. It can also be lowered, though, and the additional percent given to the Large Khepri Cache or any other section. It would show the item's icon as you unearth it, just so you know what you're getting into.
You would also have to pay to enter a game of Excavation, but no more than 10 Khepri Beetles. This way you are guaranteed to make a profit each time you enter the game, unless you fail to unearth anything, even a small cache. This game can be played every three or six hours, just to keep it from being too broken. I would also support a bump on all the Khepri Cache amounts and only being once per rollover, but the suggestion is balanced around playing once every three to six hours.
I definitely get this would be a ton of work, and hence, we're unlikely to see it for years and years. I'm definitely fine waiting to get this, but since June 2023 introduced a new Khepri Beetle Shop, we need a different way to get Khepri Beetles, as explore just isn't cutting it.
In addition, if implementing it as a mini game is just way too much, I would also be fine with it being implemented as a portal type thing, kind of like Patrolling where you have a lion (or your king) go Excavating and they return three to six hours later with everything they found. While I think I speak for everyone saying we would prefer the mini game, if it's just impossible or more work than its worth I think we could also deal with it being a patrol like thing.
If you no support, feel free to let me know why! It helps me improve my suggestions. Thank you for reading, and I hope everyone has a great day.
