Cat-fish is an ongoing project of mine that I wanted to expand to others :)
Here is how the species works: A big cat is chosen, and whatever fish are native to said cat’s environment will be its fusion. Ex: Tigers are native to Asia, and so are Koi. OR Lions and Tilapia are only found in Africa naturally.

• They are a very rare species found in the world, and are either kept as prizes for hunters or tracked by scientists.

• Cat-Fish are a species that exist in a natural world. They evolved from early big-cats, and soon branched off into their own family of species. They mimic the features and patterns of regular big-cats to blend into their environments. The only known relatives of Cat-fish are snake-cats. (made by my friend :])

Some Cat-Fish will be seen tagged by the Aquapurra Foundation - An establishment with the goal of bringing the species back from near extinction.



How Cat-Fish were put on the Near-Extinction list:
- Since the species was already a rare sight to see, tons of hunters wanted them as trophies.
- Females are predominantly hunted more than males due to a gland that excretes a steroid that helps speed up the healing process after a female gives birth. This gland is sought after because of its medical properties that allow humans to heal from severe sicknesses and wounds.

• They are mammals, which means that they have to have access to air every 4 hours.

•Only the same breeds of cat-fish can reproduce, which can lead some to being extinct, but a female can produce litters up to 5-6 Cubs, which boosts that chance. Once a mate is found, they mate for life, much like swans.

• They are the same size as their cat counterpart- with the exception of longer/larger tails.

• They primarily hunt fish, but can occasionally catch unsuspecting prey from the land by leaping from the water.

• If a Cat-Fish is found in the depths of the sea, they are more fishlike. Ex: If a Cat-Fish is half of a Lanternfish, they would have gills and the scales would rise further onto the cat portion. The gills mean that the Cat-fish are no longer mammals.
