I love this! And the black countershaded dark would be a perfect fit

I only partially agree with it possibly being too plain to be special. There are bases like hematite and opal that have literally nothing going on (they just look like common bases). Or it could be a factor base for a combo like witch since it's purple.

but I think adding something else like a pattern would really give this stunning concept the umph! it needs to be an amazing special base. Someone mentioned that it looked like amethyst which I think you should work off of as that gem doesn't have a special base yet and could provide inspiration for an interesting pattern.
