Eaglestar was wandering through the woods on a partially cloudy and cool afternoon. He hadn’t had a clue where he was walking, but he had a sense of where he would end up. Along the way he ran into a small, black and white bunny rabbit. He dropped it a few carrots he was carrying ing in an herb pouch he brought along with him and the bunny scampered off. He kept walking and slowly but surely reached his unknown destination. The water hole. When he arrived, many critters appeared out of the woods, admiring him. Then, his king arrived. It was time for the current king to stand down and let a younger, stronger, and better lion to take his role. Eaglestar walked up to the waterhole and laid down on a small patch of grass on the bank of the waterhole. His king followed behind him. As they prepared, they both roared in unison and his pride came from the woods also. It was all planned to thr inch. The king laid down beside him and his queen came in front of them. Ready to begin the ceremony, all the animals and lions bowed in respect for both of them, honoring their former king, showing how grateful they were, and allowing the heir, Eaglestar, to take over the pride. Once they all sat up, the queen put a drop of water on each of their heads, and laid a singular flower in front of both of them. Then she stepped back, the rest of the prode took their flowers and laid them beside the two. Eaglestar stood up, and roared, declaring his ownership of the pride. He touched his head to the now former king as a sign of respect and led him to his long-awaited retirement den. He got him all situated and gussied up for his meal, and set off to his new den to settle down the cubs.
