Question 1: What is your favorite piebald/patches variant and why? (Not based on looks, that's another question)
Broken piebald! It's tough to say why it's my favorite without basing it off appearance (as that's what piebald is about, isn't it? :p) but I kind of like that, with the OG piebald app and B&W patches, you're not guaranteed a specific shape so it feels somewhat more "rewarding" to get a shape you want

Question 2: What would be considered the most valuable variant as a MoD?
Uneven, probably. The shape is visually intriguing and isn't tied to undesirable ones (such as Harlequin piebald in the same applicator as Croupe patches)

Question 3: What variant do you think works best on any lion? (Sorry if this may be harder to answer/understand)
Small and subtle ones tend to look fine on any lion, such as Frail or Shreds. Patterns that block significant portions can hide too much from certain lions (hence why people don't like Heavy very much!)

Question 4: Do you think certain variants work better on certain themes? (For example, Daedal on an interstellar lion)
It's kind of dependent on the lion! I've seen Interstellars with piebald OR patches look equally amazing, but I think decor makes a pretty big impact.

Question 5: What MoD would be the most sought after for a G1 ruler?
OG piebald or B&W patches... if you can get one of the popular shapes! (anything but Heavy for OG, anything but Croupe or Frontal for B&W) - that said, I wouldn't necessarily be mad about either of those on a good G1 lion!

Question 6: What would be a good MoD to get for players that can't afford the more expensive ones?
Define 'expensive'? I've seen Magpie MoDs for under 30-40 GB, which is pretty affordable imo! I also like the pattern just fine. Otherwise, if you're looking for under 20 GB, probably Primal would be my recommendation.

Question 7: If a player didn't have the GB for a MoD but happened to have items/lions to trade, what item/lion(s) would be of equal value to a MoD? (Breeding items? Lethals? Hybrids? RL/RLCs? How many?)
Most people charge a shit ton for MoDs in exchange for HS in February, but if you can find a fair trade (with the value of MoDs plummeting each year, I'd say 300-600 HS MAX for most MoDs would be fair - aka, 5-10 buffalo scrotums or 10-20 barks in February. Or, you can wait a few months for a better value for yourself, such as when buffies reach 15 GB a month later you can probably trade like 3-5 for a MoD :) Almost everyone likes breeding items, while lions can be more of a niche interest.

Bonus question: What's best for a G1/G2 ruler? Primal (any kind) or piebald/patches (any kind)?
If you are doing any CRB projects, definitely a Primal. That mutation rolls later than CRB and GMO/Lion Meat, so no potential CRB muties will be overwritten by it. Piebalds and patches, however, roll first after hybrids (when breeding to hybrids) so it could potentially block a CRB mutation from appearing.
If you care a lot about decorating your king/queen, I'd lean towards piebald or patches. It's a bit tough to decorate primals. Though some of my favorite queen designs were primals - the female pose is much easier to decorate with some minor clipping on certain areas.
I think piebald/patches has a larger market for studding, though. Some people really don't like primal ^^
