Let's Revisit Grandpaws: A Much-Needed Fix
Making Sub Males More Useful
Alter Stat Change to Giving Tree Cubs
-------

This month of January 2024, a poll was put up with no clarification of intent, and leading users to have to place blind votes.

There was no specification given to whether or not these breeding items will be existing breeding items or new ones.

While new breeding items will have little impact on the existing market, what they are *could* impact breeders negatively.

A good example of this is Opal Gnawrocks being added to Monkey Business. Dawn eyes went from raising a lion's price by several GB, to being worthless practically overnight and breeding projects crashed and burned as a result.

But existing breeding items also run the risk of tanking existing markets that are already failing. For example, Buffalo and Lion Scrotums previously would hit 35+ GB reliably out of season. These days, they struggle to reach 25 GB, and this is in large part to due our population boom putting more in the hands of more players.

While not necessarily bad, Buffalo and Lion Scrotums are already available twice per year, so they'd never see the prices of once-yearly sought-afters such as GMO Cows and Ochre Gnaw Rocks.

In previous years, GMO Cows and Ochre Gnaw Rocks went for 50+ GB even 4 months out of season, and could rise to 70+ GB around Summer. But post-population boom? Well...

My point here is that players have been discussing adding GMO Cows and Ochre Gnaw Rocks to March, and now we see this poll. This is a pretty ominous sign for an already ailing economy on Lioden. The mutie market has crashed, the app market is in the process of crashing and we're watching the breeding item market struggle but so far it's sustaining.

Adding GMO Cows and Ochre Gnaw Rocks to March could tank these entirely. This is great for buyers, but very, very dire for sellers. And what's worse, is that when these items are freely, cheaply available, why would you buy muties and rare lions from sellers when you can just breed your own?

This is a plea. Please consider being more transparent in polls, and elaborating on what options we have been given about March's upcoming content.

This suggestion has 39 supports and 6 NO supports.

Since the poll asked about preferences between a bigger art and a smaller art, I imagined it meant new breeding items being created for March, aka they take less art than creating a base, just an icon, and mostly take coding.
Adding an old, existing breeding item to a shop would cost admins absolutely zero effort, so I dont think that's what the poll meant? A cheap move of adding existing breeding items can in NO way possibly replace adding a new item, and I hope admins are smarter than doing that, especially after polling us about what kind of "new rewards" we wanted. Because if that is the case, that is what is called a "scam".

I hope that it's new stuff too, but I think we need to know what that new stuff is so we can give feedback if it'll negatively impact a portion of the market.

I believe admins will be pulling suggestions from the suggestion boards so, all the necessary feedback should already be given on the suggested items' threads? Because when every new breeding items is suggested, there's surely users who comment on how it will affect the market. Like the suggestions for a guaranteed base passer are massively non-supported so not likely to be considered, etc?

I doubt admins can just voice us the exact items planned to be added because it will ruin the "new" element in them? Everyone will know what to expect so it wont be as exciting to release them, just an expected shop stock. I think the biggest transparency they can give is like, category, like Stat Related Items, Base Related Items, Marking Related Items, Mutation Related Items, etc.

It's not reliable to presume the playerbase will downvote unwise additions to the game. A hefty chunk of the playerbase would love for everything to be dirt cheap because they can get it easier. Which, again, great for buyers, not for sellers.

And a lot of times, polls flavored as "More of X?" are met with "YES!" even if we definitely do not need More of X and if we could use those efforts focused elsewhere or X is already over-saturated.

But I'm not demanding full transparency on every little detail. In *this* suggestion, I'm asking for clarification if the breeding items will be new or existing, and for better clarity in FUTURE polls. That's it.

If it's existing, from there, players can determine if they would like Mods to be more transparent about upcoming features. A large number of players are just requesting more transparency in general.
