How to create a clan?
You can create a clan through the clan page in crossroads, using the “create a clan” only one person can be the owner of a clan. It will cost the owner a upfront cost of 2 to start a clan, which later turns into a 1000sb upkeep fee every month.

Naming your clan?
What is your clan about? You need something to draw people in. It needs to relate to what your clan does, for example, if your clan is about decor, mention decor in the title! Is it about rosettes? Mention rosettes! You shouldn’t have a clan that is named “fantastic rosettes” and be about roleplay

Clan description?
Don’t be vague! Having a description with little information isn’t going to help your clan at all! Go into detail! What is your clan about? What does it do? Why should people join? What are people going to get out of the clan? Why did you make this clan? What are your clan goals? And many more!! But when I say don’t be vague I also mean don’t go TOO overboard, make the description look pleasing with titles, and headings etc. we don’t want massive sentences!

Clan messages?
This is where most people go wrong! You’ve finally created a member count and it’s time to send your first clan message. I encourage you to only send ONE clan messages per each week. People get irritated! They don’t want a message every 2 or so days. And multiple each day is definitely pushing it! These clan messages should be limited to clan stuff only! For example, updates on the clan, new raffles, advertisements, goal milestones etc! Limit the messages you are sending out, and make them worth reading!

Clan raffles?
Clan raffles a important too! And I will be completely honest here. You need to make raffles that people WANT to enter. Most people don’t wish to put sb into a raffle that is only offering a low tier dirty mutation. You can use raffles to draw people in when you are advertising! And I know, not everyone can afford expensive raffles, there is no harm in starting small! They didn’t necessarily have to be expensive! New items! New items will draw people in, event items etc!

Clan hoard?
This is without a doubt the most troubling feature of a clan, the hoard. This is where you can donate items and so can clan members. Now this depends strictly on how you run your clan. You CAN have an open hoard with a limit of 1 grab, this will most definitely draw people in, but there needs to BE something in the hoard to draw people in. What I did personally with my clan was donate 200 or so applicators, decors, craftables etc, this gives the hoard a backbone. And encourages others to donate. - but my advice is to expect people to NOT donate. And plan of that, as there is no guarantee people will donate. I highly recommend that the hoard stays closed until you’ve got enough to supply 1 item a day per member. Or it just stays closed indefinitely. Keep in mind people WILL grab the most valuable item in there!

Clan admins?
Another tough thing to keep in mind is admins! Now you don’t necessarily NEED admins, they are simply there to help.. but not always. There has been a large number of people who have been accepted into clan admins and have purged the bank and hoard of all the items. In which moderators genuinely can’t help you out if this happens. I HIGHLY encourage you to create a admin template for people to fill out, something similar to mine here with your own questions relating to your clan and the jobs your admins will be doing. This gives you reliable information about the people before you decide on who you wish to hire. I also encourage a SMALL amount of admins, 1-2, anymore increases the risk of something bad happening. So Ask yourself, do you really need admins?

Clan Thread?
You NEED a clan thread! Use this thread to host clan contests, go into more depth about what you clan does and all related things to your clan! When I look at a clan and see there’s no thread, I don’t think much more other than “this clan isn’t fully set up yet” or that the clan hasn’t gone into detail just yet. This is something that can easily turn someone from joining. Your clan needs to be well thought out!

Clan Monthly Upkeep?
You need to pay 1000 each month to keep your clan running! I suggest running raffles to keep up with this clan cost, members will not be able to send a request or take from the hoard, the clan will be completely inactive until you pay the cost. Keep in mind this BUILDS UP so if it went inactive in January and you left it until March you will need to pay 3k sb to cover the 3 months.

To keep as of note, where many people go wrong is asking for a member clan fee, members shouldn’t need to pay to keep the clan running!

Clan Bank?
This is where all the clan savings go! Although people don’t necessarily judge off how the clan bank looks some may! A clan with a handful of in the bank it looks very pleasing to new members, to know that the clan will be able to fund itself.

Clan member?
You can’t have a clan without members! There are so many ways to grow you clan many which many I’ll mention below. But members are a massive part of your clan! The more members you have the more effect your clan will have!

Clan Banner
A clan isn’t a clan without a clan banner! You can commission players to draw these or you can make one yourself! Keep in mind a clan banner needs to be 150x80! For clan banners I recommend something that relates to your clan but is also eye catching! Make sure you get the right size so this isn’t pixilated! You can also add text but make sure it’s readable!!

It has my clan name, the “mascot” and bright colours. Which essentially draws people in. It is also well drawn and not pixelated!

Den banners
Den banners is by far the best thing that has helped my clan grow, that’s the secret! I made a large variety of den banners, this way members could pick and choose what fitted their css! The link to my clans den banner forum can be found here I highly suggest you commission a art banner in relation to your clan for members to post, these banners are clickable links to your clan! The more banners out there the more your clan will get seen!

Getting something out of the clan
Call me crazy, but it’s true. If someone Isn’t going to GAIN something from your clan they will not join. They need to be gaining something to join, it’s just how it works. Whether it’s gaining studs, hybrids, breeding items, craftables, junk, knowledge, currency etc. they need to be gaining something. No one necessarily want to join just to be there, most lioden players are seeking clans to grow their knowledge or wealth.

Advertising
ADVERTISING! The only way to truthfully grow your clan! Make sure to post your clan in clan chat as much as you possibly can! You can also advertise on certain discord servers and arguably the best way to advertise is to get other clans to do it for you! Many large clans allow for a advertising with a price, and having it in a clan message can be extremely helpful!

Css/html
I’m going to be truthful here. Unless a clan css is made extremely well, most clan css look unorganised, rushed and hard to read. I genuinely encourage you to just have no css. But again this is my personal opinion. If you do plan to have a css I recommend you to have one solid colour as the background and have black text. So everything can be read.

Rules
No clan functions particularly well without rules, especially important if you are planning on having a discord server in relation to your clan. The normal TOS rules along with no hate speech, no harassment etc. and any general clan rules that relate to your clan specifically should be added! A community can go very wrong without rules.

Discord
Discords! A very popular addition to any clan, an offsite server where the clan can socialise, host things etc. this will definitely make your clan more interesting. But there’s good and bad things about a discord, first and foremost you are not protected by the lioden staff in anyway if something happens offsite. If you are scammed, harassed or anything of that kind lioden staff cannot help you unless there’s talk about it onsite. So I recommend that if discord servers are made that mature, reliable staff are hired to keep it in line. But there’s also a good side! Many will join these server to further connect with their fellow clan members, which is always a great thing for a growing community!

Organisation
Organisation is a massive part on a clan to thrive, things need to be organised! All forums need to have clickable links in one area, all things need to be easily readable and have easy access! My clan has 11 forums all relating to the clan, which are all easily accessible with clickable links and images on the clan bio! This makes it so people, who may have not or even joined yet are able to see all the forums!

Unique ideas
So you’ve followed everything here and your clan STILL isn’t getting the attention you want, well maybe it’s the idea? The reason the collector grew so much in so little time because it was a ORIGINAL idea, it wasn’t seen before! The points systems, the killing of the lions. It was unheard of! But as I say this, I’m not telling you to copy the idea directly. As that is not my point here, I’m saying thing of an idea that is ORIGINAL. something that YOU thought of! Maybe figure our a way people can get more involved!


Forums
A clan is never really JUST the clan. It’s a community! host contests! Maybe make a apply-for-admin forum! Or host a game forum, you can use these forums to go into way more detail about your clan, maybe your clan has a project? Make a suggestion forum, you NEED to let your clan members have an input, after all they are the ones in the clan! Maybe a member forum that they can communicate! There’s a billion different ideas here!

Community interaction
By far probably the most important thing to run a clan is to have it be interactive, make it MORE than a clan, many ways you can do this is through discord, game nights, clan raffles, clan contest, clan chatter forums, clan games etc! Make your clan something people WANT to be apart of.
