Lion Meat has no affect on Ferus, it only increases chances of random mutation to appear - like achromia, folded ears, etc. Your cub's unchecked, check it with Falcon's Eye - it might have adult mutation.

Also remember - most breedings will produce fail cubs, the chance of actual good cub is rare. You can give items to increase some chances of markings and etc. to pass but everything can still fail and give a potato cub. Lioden breeding is extremely randomised and most of the time, the breedings wont give good cubs, getting fail cubs is very common and normal, even if you spend a lot on breeding items.
