This is a short guide on how to manage a clan as a newbie, and what to look out for when looking for staff and how to judge them based on their behaviour. Section 1: Creating a clan In order to create a clan you need 2gb and a thought-out idea of what you have in mind. I'd suggest looking at currently made clans to see if there's any that fit your idea, and joining them instead of making the 1000th clan based on mutie giveaways. Although there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to give them away yourself, you can always support larger groups or do it via forums. You want to also stock up on at least 5000sb for the next 5 renewal points of your clan, then you dont have to worry about it while you accumulate members, but also you can expand your membership space if necessary! If you cant get 5000sb, then you can always just go with the flow and try getting 1000sb as the renewal needs to be done. Your clan needs to be renewed every 30 days or else the clan is made inactive and cannot be viewed or joined, and therefore members may leave. You need to make sure your clan idea is POLISHED and you know exactly how you want to run it/what is going to happen, and also make sure you have the assets to do so. Once this is done, just make a clan description and you're ready to start advertising your clan! Section 2: Staff and a Discord server I would advise not making a discord server until you have accumulated a decent amount of members; and then you should release a poll asking users if they WANT the discord so you dont waste your time making one just for no one to join. Secondly, STAFF. You do NOT need staff right away, not until you have gotten to a clan size way too big for you to handle, or when you genuinely need it. You absolutely need need need to observe everyone in your clan when they chatter and research them as a person. Never, and i mean never, hire suck-ups. Here is a brief list of what you need to look out for in staff: - respectful and can be civil in pressuring situations. - Not sucking up to you, or asking about staff every now and then. Asking once is enough. If they ask about staff right away cross them off your list. - make sure the user is engaging right off the bat; someone not interested in socialising until staff apps come around will continue to not engage once made into staff. - Make sure your members actually like the potential staff members; dont go around asking them about it obviously, but watch how people behave when the user joins chat. I also have a brief list of what NOT to look for in staff members; - Suck ups; they just want the priviledge, im sorry but it's true. - People who are asking about staff apps rather frequently and without reason. - People who cannot be civil under whatever circumstances. - Non-engaging members; if you dont know them, dont hire them! - Members who have quite literally not engaged with your clan whatsoever; entering raffles, reading messages, etc. etc. - People who suddenly become active when staff apps become available; they just want the priviledge as well! - A person who the chat suddenly becomes inactive when they join the conversation. - people who frequently break minor rules; they're still rules and they know they have to respect them. Section 3: Upkeeping Your Clan You need to be giving your members frequent updates and news posts to remind them of things like raffles or giveaways you or others have on. I'd suggest posting a weekly news message routinely and have a clan raffle/giveaway every week, even if the items are rubbish im sure you'll have some currency to give them. When in an event, you absolutely need to grind for the items for yourself as well as your clan; you are responsible for getting the majority of the funds, not your members.
