This is unfortunately such a big problem in a lot of sites where the economy/value of items is widely set by the base. On neopets, steep undercutting is widely despised by the hardcore restockers lol What's the worst is when ONE PLAYER decides to sell their stock of like 30+ of whatever singular item they have and basically crash the market themselves by pricing all those for like 10gb less than the previous average price 5 players like this post! I could never wrap my head around why anyone would think steep underpricing is necessary or a good idea. Even if you’re trying to sell something extremely quickly the tendency is to overcompensate for a lack of confidence in your own ability to sell and move items, and, thus, sink the ship for everyone else. Oversaturation of a particular item will always cause it to lose value but as someone who consistently sells hundreds of breeding items selling at market value or 1-3GB under is usually perfectly viable. Lioden, like any economy, follows the rules of supply and demand and there’s really no reinventing the wheel with how it operates. Be reasonable with your pricing— for your own sake, if anything. I think I see most people lose out on GB selling items that would have sold just as fine at a price point 5-15GB higher than what it was listed for. Don’t even get me started on MoDs. This is especially egregious for GB sales for sure, since as you correctly noted, 1SB makes as much of a difference as 50SB in terms of visibility, but I also believe there’s a group of people who intentionally keep the price of GB low at certain months >_> but thats a whole other tangent. OK. Had to rant at a wall for a little bit u_u 6 players like this post! Like? |

Thanks so much for this guide. Unhealthy undercutting is actively killing Lioden's market and it was already a problem before the population boom and before the economic crash. While I want to hope that much of LD's economic woes are simply ignorance about healthy pricing, I know some are willingly trying to crash the market and keep it ruined. So we have to do what we can to work against that. 4 players like this post! Like? |

Now this guide is helpful however this is just how economy's work, as lioden's pool of assets expand and worth is pushed to different item's this whole cycle of prices skyrocketing and plummeting will occur almost the same way prey and predator populations fluctuate naturally, it's all normal and people shouldn't Panick about the whole thing. Honestly if anything what people should take from this is to wait for the right time to buy, markets change and waiting could save you currency and leave you more wealthy in the long run, but i understand people wanting a more stable economy in the game. 0 players like this post! I couldn’t agree more! But this is just explaining exactly why this has happened! As it can, In a community based economy be changed if enough people take it into consideration. (Which is obviously a wild thought) but just thought I’d throw it out there so people can learn from mistakes and possibly thrive to price things correctly for their OWN benefit! 0 players like this post! There is one that explains my clan, can be found in the clan bio in the orange boxes under “all you need to know” if you have any other questions feel free to dm to keep the conversation here on topic! But yes, the economy is chaotic and there’s no much we can do but it never hurts to try! 0 players like this post! Like? |

While I appreciate the sentiment that 'people shouldn't panic', this is the first time since I joined LD in 2017 that so many parts of the market are all in simultaneous, total collapse. I wouldn't call that normal. It's natural to panic, because if you can't make money, you can't buy things. My entire expansive hoard's gone from being worth about 500+ GB in applicators alone to barely brushing 120 in the course of about a year. I think we're allowed to panic a bit lmfao. 4 players like this post! Like? |

Panic leads to poor desicion makeing, and that's why I don't horde things like that incase of value discrepancy I find it better to turn them into GB as soon as possible or find individuals who I know will be looking for those items somewhat consistently, gotta be flexible otherwise you just have to play that waiting game to see when your items are worth more again IF they ever are worth that much again or you can find a 'exception dealer' for example somebody willing to pay extra for dwarves beacuse they have a soft spot for them And that's normal a market declines slowly and then suddenly it plumets before it slowly begins recovery and then it will sky rocket with inflation and the cycle repeats, you will see this start to happen with the addition of that new hybrid and that combo base that will be comeing out as people will be looking to stockpile for it and prep and once people catch on prices will rise 1 player likes this post! Being real with you, I think it's gonna take something drastic to fix this. Unlike real world economies, supply chains can't be comprimised, work forces can't decrease and excess product doesn't get thrown out, expire and so forth. It just sits. If I had more dosh, I'd buy up apps, apply them to lions and kill em to get em outta the system but that ain't happening. 0 players like this post! Like? |

It's applicators that are no longer worth 20-30 GB like they used to be, find a breeder or buyer who selectively goes after them and sell them for thare price or for the current market value and sure you won't make top dollar on it but it's better then your assets sitting and not being used, next time I suggest being carefull with buying apps of all things in access, breeding item's is one thing but apps are a whole other can of worms. Also consider combo bases, colors and overall how old- new and popular applicators are, it's something that fluctuates over all and I wouldent advise getting into that unless it's applicators for combo bases that have a relatively stable market 1 player likes this post! Thares nothing you can do but play the market game or deleet what you have or use it, it's a revolving door I have seen this happen in games with economy's plenty of times whare people invest in things that are a trend for how recent they are to have been released insted of things that are perpetual to game play and they end up getting screwed over in the long run, it's like buying a stock and waiting to long to sell it 0 players like this post! It's become a game of grind your ass off to make a shred of profit to do what you love. I may as well be a new player again with how badly the market's gotten boned. 2 players like this post! Like? |
