Sadivi

The large lion lingered near the borders of his territory, tail flicking from side to side as he paced over the dusty sand that made up the desert. He was supposed to pass the border at sunhigh and he could already see the colour seeping out like water from the sky as the sun only sank lower. Since his kinging ceremony he'd been visiting the neighboring prides in attempts to gain allies. He winced as he remembered one of the more violent reactions he'd gotten from one of said prides.

No matter, there was just this one left. Surely it couldn't be too hard. Sadivi brushed sand off from his thick mane and tentatively passed into the forest, feeling the ground underpaw solidify into firm soil. The king frowns and almost recoils in disgust yet forced himself to continue. He wasn't specifically "subtle" in this forest. His cream colour and abnormal size made him stick out like a dingo in a coyote pack. Although he doubted anyone would actually attack a lion such as him, he couldn't help the nagging feeling of unease as he strode deeper into the trees.

There had been no warning or notice that he'd be visiting, the last pride badly wounded his beloved messenger vulture, so all he could do was hope he came out of this unscathed.

(Maybe your lion can be on a hunt/patrol of some type?)
