so, do you not know how to properly set up a forum thread to sell art? and/or do you not know how to properly price your art based on lioden currency/just in general? ![]() |

alright! for an art thread, these are the basic things you'd need to include: - terms of service (e.g. rules and guidelines. what you can/cannot draw, refund policy, upfront (half?) payment or payment after, time estimate for how long you'll take to finish a piece, how to credit you (on-site vs off-site if that's something you want to delve into, etc.) - pricing (for each kind of art (e.g. humanoids vs ferals and/or based on how much of the body you're drawing (head shot/bust shot/half body/full body) you're selling. you can also add on more info about add-ons such as another character in a piece or a background. + what you're willing to take (USD? GB? lioden items?) - examples, which you can code in with <*img src=image link> (without the (*) asterisk) and adjust the size by adding in either width=# or height=# (it'll automatically lock the aspect ratio if you only do one!) if you're confused on this part i can send you a proper html guide. people definitely prefer images that are on a forum thread already over ones that are linked to another social site. - queue & slots. slots for a max limit on how many clients/pieces you're willing to work on at a certain point of time. queue is just a list of clients you're working with at the moment, which may or may not be organized based on the order you're working on them! - form!! optional, but it's the basic bare bones info you need to know for your commission. typically has a person put in their user & id, character/reference, what kind of commission they're getting, and more info about anything they want to add-on or just make sure you know of (which is optional.) - i think coding/html for forum posts makes things a bit more appealing! you can always search up posts for free html or commission some for yourself. and you can also make your own html if you're up to the coding, just entirely up to what you feel comfortable with. - basic html like bolding and italics can help greatly!! you can search up html guides for this as there are PLENTY. additionally, spoilers for your images are a life saver. <*spoiler>text<*/spoiler*> (w/o (*) asterisks) - reserve a few comments for yourself. i love to break things up as it helps one navigate more easily. you can break it up into like, terms/other info and then put in your pricing/examples in a comment below and then have your queue/slots in the comment below it. do whatever you feel works best - pricing is a bit of a grey area, as it's very very easy to underprice your art. keep in mind that 1 ![]() - you could do pricing per hour, which i feel like it's good to stick to minimum wage (12-15 USD an hour which would be 24-30 USD an hour) BUT people on ld are silly and often think of things like its 1 ![]() - uhmm i can also give a price check if you can supply some examples!! regarding adopts those are a bit more specific and you should definitely read lioden's adopt rules since shit with bases are tricky. - auctions are definitely what you'd like for more high-quality/expensive adopts uhmm general terminology is: starting bid (SB), current bid (CB), minimum increase (from latest CB, abbreviated to MI), and autobuy (automatically purchases the adopt, AB. good to keep this extra high to encourage bidding) - flatsales are for those adopts that are a bit easier to create (i typically see them as the ones you use bases for!)/less expensive. they have One Price. as i said!! i can do a price check for you C: ![]() Edited on 19/02/24 @ 12:04:03 by samael🪽 (#237217) |

Definitely dont start with 1gb if you are just starting out! you can easily get overwelmed with work orders from people! I agree with Samael in starting out at 5 ![]() ![]() |

Ooo ok! I’ll draw a quick one for ya (idk what you mean by rendering so it’s just gonna be a flat color) ![]() |

I will admit there isnt as much of a market for uncolored/traditional drawings! but there is some ^^ I do agree with their pricing and for rendering its normally shading/more details. (idk how else to explain it) I would share examples but i dont buy art with lots of rendering as it can increase the price a lot (as i only have feral/anthro OC's) ![]() |

i can share some rendering examples!! here's one (by me): i personally see rendering as the process of adding details and painting over a flat colours and line art to enhance the drawing in a way. it can also just be shading LOL ![]() Edited on 19/02/24 @ 12:29:57 by samael🪽 (#237217) |
